I feel like there’s a handful of competive matchups at 125 for Val (Davis,Carmouche,Chookagian). Nicco is definitely not one though.

I do not lhink Chookagian has a chance, and I am sure Val would love a chance to rematch Carmouche, who is plenty tough. Davis is a very crafty and tough veteran as well, and presents good possibilities.

i got no desire to see holm mini me holm chookagian hiya and run for 3 rounds, maia and neidewidz would give her solid competition, although aga would probably be understrength.
dont think joanna wants any part of her either, but if she loses a rematch with rose ( possible) she may not have many options but to go up
i hope the new aggressive bullet hangs around, i like her
 
The only reason I think chookagian has a chance is because she’s good at deceiving judges into thinking she won

I do not think Shevchenko will give her that chance. And yeah, she has had some favorable decisions.
 
More results. I know the Hashi vs. Acioly fight has been mentioned already along with other fights but I decided to include all Pancrase fights together.

Bellator probably thought they were going to get a 3-0 prospect but she is now 2-1 against someone who has fought and lost to a fair number of good fighters in other promotions. Not hating on Thorton, she has fought some tough opponents.

The only option i figured as far as Joanna goes is if she comes
up short to Rose Namajunas is if she stays at 115 lbs is she will
have to win at least 3 in a row & hope the rankings add up to get
another title shot in 2019 or if she goes the 125 lbs route she may
be able to with 2 wins in a row & high enough up in the rankings
based on 125 not being established yet could get a title shot there
in a very quick time.
 
I guess my opinion that Joanna should stay at 115 is unpopular

Not sure. She does not really seem to do all that well with the weight cut. She has less power and more injury, so I think it is less than ideal for her. I do not think she beats Val at 125, but will do well at the weight class. Her rematch with Rose will pretty much tell the tale, I guess.
 
I don’t know how much muscle mass she has, but if she can find to way to make the cut easier that would be ideal.
As a big Joanna fan I’m just pro Joanna not fighting Valentina
 
When should we expect UFC to sign Valentina's Sister? Is she good enough to be a contender?

And Evans Smith vs bec feels strangely interesting to me...I'm not sure why.
 
nah these weight cuts are a nightmare, she is killing herself, i hope win or lose that next fight it's the last time we see her at 115

This was a message to everyone at 125. Before yesterday, fighters weren't really afraid of being sacrificed to the Just Bleed God by Valentina. Afraid of losing to her and getting dropped down the rankings or losing opportunities, sure, but not really afraid of getting mangled and beaten to a bloody pulp. That has now changed, opponents will be worrying about their personal safety and fighting scared against her, which makes things a bit easier for Valentina. It was essentially a statement to the UFC and her opponents that she's going to be running the show at 125.

She really looks like shit making weight, and she does not carry a lot of lean mass. I do think from an overall health standpoint 125 is a better fit for her.

Well, Antonina is pretty good, but not top ten caliber at 135 (her most recent fight was at 135 for the first time in quite a while).

Yeah. As we both have discussed, her performance in this weight class will be leaps and bounds beyond what she did at 135. Amazing how not giving up 15 to 20 lbs. (in some cases) to fighters makes your life easier.

The is the first round.


Looking up details on this fight. Could be from 2-3-17. Sanchez/SanRet posted to that effect on her facebook. That could mean the reference to AZTK FC 3 is off - that is simply the information I have seen so far about that fight. I haven't seen much info on either of these fighters and little but one fight card on Sherdog related to Oct 2017.

AZTK has a pic from yesterday though that suggests it is from this year. Could just be a typo from Sanchez/SanRet.



There was another female fight on the card too. Could have been boxing. I will keep digging around on it. It was kickboxing. Ammy.
