Official War Room Awards 2018

I nominate my work in the Mattis thread for.... something.

Lol how did I forget about this?

"BTW, I'm still waiting for your response on Dred Scott."

What exactly was the context of that?

@waiguoren and I believe @Darkballs were going at it in one of the Mueller mega threads.

@Darkballs dunked on him and @waiguoren responded with "BTW, I'm still waiting for your response on Dred Scott" which is apparently something that came up in another thread months before that in regards to originalist jurisprudence

Man, that must have been one bad beating if the escape route was to defend the merits of the most infamous Supreme Court decision in history.

That didn't work for me. I only have 20 posts per page, bruh.

@Limbo Pete I did the math in my head and went to page 25. It was BKMMA, not Darkballs. And I really do wish i could have the play-by-play on what tf they were talking about re Dred Scott.

Also, it's great how conservatives don't have any famous Supreme Court cases in which they can take pride because history, equity, and logic all fly in the face of reactionary power-serving politics and reasoning backward from a politically expedient position, which is basically what conservative jurisprudence amounts to in history.

Liberal/the left have: Brown v. Board, Miranda v. Arizona, Lawrence v. Texas, Katz v. US, Riley v. CA, NYT vs. Sullivan

Conservatives have....Lochner (gubbamunt can't outlaw child labor), Dred Scott, Plessy v. Ferguson, and Citizens United

Hell, if I'm leveling, Heller is the only definitively conservative opinion that comes to mind that isn't deplorable and does have some note of popular justice....and it was based on patently erroneous arguments lol
