Official War Room Awards 2017

Hah! No, I'd have the same discussion with you in real life because you have no effect on my life and I don't care about you anymore than any other random person. Anonymity plays no role. It's the same as bullshitting about religion or politics at the pub. The internet gives me access to these contacts with no effect on my day to day life, and who are actively looking for these discussions, so there's no consequence in pursuing an argument on topics which are usually avoided.

If I had to avoid any topic with my colleagues, or friends or family, I would not call them such.

It is here that I avoid the really difficult topics. Because I cannot gauge the strength of character in people, the same way that I can about my family or friends.

Considering your complete inability to judge anything properly, and to evaluate most situations to be completely opposite to what they actually are, I take that as a compliment. Thanks, buddy.
Why is that? Because I'm not a die hard conservative and i don't like Trump? Don't mistake my teasing of alt right conservative trolls for some intellectual dishonesty. I stand by what i say and my opinions on this forum are the same things i would tell a friend or family member.. i have fun here but i also don't make up lies or move goalposts...

Religion is the scourge of the earth. (Aside from Trumpism)

Nice try though.

If you were willing to say that to my face "in real life", then I have no problem with that.

But to date, I have never actually heard anyone say anything of the sort to me, outside of the sphere of the internet. So I simply question whether people are putting on a "role" when they say such things, or whether they are actually being real.

As things currently stand, I'm of the opinion that most people are most certainly faking it. No argument that I've heard here, has convinced me any differently.

Well, good fortune to you I guess, to only work with and be related to people with whom there are no topics which are taboo.
I mean I've had perfectly frank conversations with a Bahai boss on religion, but I've been accused of religious persecution by a Jehovah's Witness colleague just for asking what she got for her birthday (I didn't even know she was a JW).

I am the same exact asshole in RL i am here. I'm to old to change at this point..i am stubborn and outspoken and have lived and died on the sword of my opinions

I reckon that if you made it more obvious what you are, and what you represent, then there would be less questions about any hidden agendas.

I've made my agendas fully clear, and thus, whatever I say, is to be expected from such a source. Accusing a person such as myself of religious persecution, is nullified by the fact that it is absolutely, blatantly obvious that I'm religiously persecuting, and take great pride in that fact, too.

It really couldn't have been more obvious that I was a non-denominational Christian under the circumstances, which is most likely why she made the accusation.
If you're exaggerating and putting on gimmicks though, that inherent dishonesty is the exact opposite of being transparent. Like all trolls, the substance is meaningless. If that's what anonymity and the internet means to you, well just don't expect that everyone's looking for the same thing.

In that regard, I do not think we differ much. I simply have some other targets in my cross-hairs, as of the moment. But that may change in a moment's time, whoever I feel requires to be "taken down" a notch.

It's not so much about what it means to me or you particularly, but rather just about what it is.

Exaggerating one's self and pushing beyond one's boundaries, is necessary for human development, in my opinion. Some might disagree, but I have already seen the value. Once you pretend and bullshit your way into being somebody for a long time, you might even become it. That's how great men are made. The internet can develop great men, even out of the meekest of men, if they can utilize it for that purpose.

Some men are afforded the means to bullshit their way through, in real life, but most men are not. That is what the internet is for.

I just feel strongly against some of the former banned shitposters who have come back and certain others who basically lie day in and day out just to put out this false identity or persona people like heretic who's not even a us citizen schilling for Trump like he's a southern born redneck and shitposters like cint and silica posting muslim obama hate and just plain nonsense with zero merit...

Yes, I've encountered the "fake it until you make it" philosophy from countless shallow frauds (although I certainly put internet trolls/gimmicks on a lower rung yet). All the same, best of luck to you.

Shallow frauds such as the current president of the United States.

I'd prefer to be that guy, than you, sorry.

I dragged up an 8 foot mirror from downstairs to hopefully reflect some fireplace heat back into the bedrooms. LOL. I hope that it does some kind of science thing.

One mans shit is another mans merit.

I find his defense of certain issues extraordinarily disengenuous. From foreign policy under obama, to the handling of the rule of law post GFC, to the extent of financial corruption and it's dangers, to how corrupting money in politics and lobbying actually are, I find it difficult to think he actually believes in his positions.

The thing about this is that "my positions" are not what you attribute to me. My position on foreign policy in general is that it's really fucking complicated and I don't know much about it (and I also think that people like you who claim to know a lot are wrong). You won't find "defenses" of foreign policy under Obama because it's not an area I discuss generally. You just make up positions and attribute them to me and then criticize me for having them.

And you're simply wrong about the effects of money in politics and lobbying.

I think our biggest real differences is that I think your CTs are comically stupid. And the way you apply them to me is comical. Don't blame you, I guess, as that's just how your mind works.

When I think of Partisan Poster I immediately think of JVS.

That's because you're dumb, though (no offense).

Partisanship really kind of has two lumps, if you think about the general public. Most voters don't know shit about issues or even have a recognizable ideology. They have an understanding of what party seems like people like them, and vote that way, and decide their views on issues that way. That kind of partisanship is common among the general public and some of the lesser posters here. Anne Coulter said that Hannity would support communism if the proposal came from Trump, and that applies to a lot of people here. Moving up a level, you have people like Inga, who read enough to be able to articulate a coherent ideology but are still invariably going to defend the party line with some bullshit ("OMG, a debt crisis will destroy us all!" when a Democrat is in the WH followed by, "well a huge increase in deficits is OK because Democrats"). What you'll see from me is consistent liberalism, which is very different from partisanship.

Yeah I think Jack sometimes uses his intellectual acumen to justify questionable positions ("CNN is pro-Trump") comes to mind, but I can respect a man of his convictions. There can be productive discourse between dickheads and idiots.

That CNN had a pro-Trump bias is objectively true, though. Note how you never see anyone even address the actual points in support of that. I don't know how it would even be possible.
