Official Titanfall Thread

I paid $60, for this game, the same price I paid for some COD games, Crysis 2 and 3.

In the COD games, I got 8-10 hours of SP, MP with several game modes and options, and a third game mode (either zombies or some kind of arcade mode) on day one!!

In the Crysis games I got even longer SP campaigns and an MP mode with several game modes.

The icing on the cake is that for the past few hours, I haven't even been able to log in and play Titanfall. There are server issues so no one can play-- not even the training mode.

I'm not saying you can't criticize it, everybody is entitled to their opinion. What I have a problem with is you saying that I'm folding like a cheap lawn-chair just because I like the game as it is.

I also never said that the DLC will fix anything. I just said I'd wait until it comes out before I start whining about it like others.

Yeah you did pay 60 bucks, but they were also pretty clear about what the game entailed before you bought it. You knew exactly what you were getting and still pulled the trigger. Seems pretty silly to me.
 
The game is fun as hell, which says a lot considering the shit companies try to pass off as quality games nowadays. However, if we don't get new modes for free, then I do see that as fucked up.
 
Game def needs private matches and an SnD mode. Also a ranked or competitive playlist for all us sweaty tryhards would be good too. Stomping lobbies full of noobs gets boring after a while.
 
The number of game modes doesn't bother me at all. Team Deathmatch and Conquest/Domination are my preferred multiplayer modes and Titanfall has both. Not big on CTF or Pilot Hunter, but Last Titan Standing is one of the most fun and exciting multiplayer modes Ive ever played.

I think people get too caught up in their own expectations rather than taking the game for what it is.
 
Everybody needs to calm down now. Titanfall DLC price info has been released as well as the New Game Modes and availability.

"Respawn's Vince Zampella has announced that Titanfall's first DLC pack will cost $10, though he didn't confirm when it would arrive.

Taking to Twitter, Zampella reiterated what we'd heard previously: that new modes will be added free of charge, and that private matches should be arriving very soon.

Quite what we should expect in the DLC bundle when it arrives is anyone's guess, though when we spoke to the studio's Abbie Heppe recently, she gave her thoughts on whether monsters and new Titans would be included."

I would rather they start releasing single player fps separately from the multiplayer games as long as the content in the game justifies it. I've had BF4 for months now and I might be halfway through the campaign.

I think they'd be better off making a single player experience that rivals Far Cry 3 or a Bioshock and then release the multiplayer mode separately loaded with more content.

The fps genre is so popular nowadays that there's enough room for both separately. I also think that we need to stop comparing games like COD and Titanfall to BF. They offer completely different experiences besides being in the first person.

BF4's campaign is horrendous. It's 5 hours of explosions mixed in with killing a few bad guys.

BF 5 should be multiplayer only.
 
I liked BF4's campaign. It was silly sure, but fun. And the graphics for it, at least on PS4, were fucking jaw-dropping.

I'm worried that new guns or unlockables really won't make a difference. I feel like the overall pace and map size kind of negates a lot of the traditional benefits of gun variability. I feel like you are totally fine in this game with either the carbine or the shotgun.
 
I enjoy the game, but frankly I am losing interest in it....and Iam only LVL 33. The only gun you ever need to use is the RC1010, everything else is a gimp or completely underpowered and pointless. Way too repetitive and the community overall does what they always do - play the cheapest way possible, fun be damned.

I have XB1 and PS4, but I'm switching back to 360 until some good games come out.

I played like 20 mins max of battlefield campaign and that was with BFBC1 years ago. I don't even know why they bothered with it. There's no need for it.
 
Titanfall is a good game and completely overrated. Really feels like an unfinished/rushed game. But again thats not the devs its probably EA ....
 
im an xbox1 owner and i really hoped this game would excel so it would draw more interest to the system, and maybe it did. But personally, i will never ever buy any game that doesnt have a single player mode. never had an ounce of interest in this game. I would get bored SOOO quick just shooting guys in fast paced action online over and over with no story and limited strategy. Hopefully xbox1 steps it up with exclusives.

I am totally not interested in World of Warcraft. I've never had an ounce of interest in it. I would get so bored of it.

Notice how I don't post in the World of Warcraft threads.
 
Good and fun game without lasting any appeal.

7/10 is my final verdict.

Maybe the updates and dlc will help but I don't see my score for the game changing (not that a 7/10 is bad). At this point I'd probably pass on a sequel too. Can't really see how they can improve on their idea that much to make a sequel that much different than this one. Guess we'll just have to see.
