Official Titanfall Thread

Anyone get the feeling that Titanfall is becoming irrelevant rather quickly? Im just going off the Twitch stream numbers and its fallen of the map faster than I thought.

Need more party members guys. Add me on Xbone: Disciple36th

Game has no mechanics to extend longevity outside of the first few weeks after release. Its a casual multiplayer FPS.

I agree , but I don't think that it is indicative of Xbone being a failure or the Franchise being a bad IP. I just think that the game is lacking key features that have been standard for a generation already. The lack of features is even more glaring considering that there is no single player for people to fall back on.

The game is definetely lacking and I wonder if MS is sweating this drubbing their taking from the PS4. I know I am, fuck, I own an X1 and am starting to get concerned about its viability. Its going to cost MS alot of money to keep these AAA titles in their pocket and I dont know how long its going to be financially feasable for them to do so if they are getting outsold 2:1.

EA has pretty much already confirmed that this is going to be the only exclusive in this series. They saw how much they are losing by not having this game on the PS4.

I fully expect this to be PS2 vs. Xbox all over again. With PS4 going hard with the exclusives and Xbox being knocked down a few pegs clenching tight to Halo. Only now it's not the exciting and fresh game that it once was.

No matter what side of the fence you're on a 2:1 ratio will have devs running to the PS4 and it will play out like it did before unless that changes.

That's exactly what I thought would happen based on the beta, and also why I didn't buy it. It seemed like an incredibly shallow game that would get old and die off pretty quickly once the "coolness factor" of the mechs and parkour wore off. I think they dropped the ball by not including more interesting gameplay modes and teamwork mechanics. The fact that the A.I. Grunts aren't even used in any interesting ways what-so-ever (they're just ... there) blows my mind.

The lack of guns annoy me, I get killed 10 times and 8/10 itid that Rc1010 or whatever its name is. They needed more content.

Game is still fun as hell for me. It may be a bit light on the features at the moment, but it just released like 2 weeks ago. I'll wait to see what kind of DLC is coming before I get all doom and gloom like you guys.

It's this mentality that allows devs to cut features and ship half-finished games and charge for the rest later.

There are plenty of similar games that cost the same that ship on day one with many more features (like single player, more modes, maps, etc.)

You're just bending over for Respawn and EA by saying shit like this.

I kind of agree. The fact that you are relying on DLC only two weeks after a game is release is kind of telling, isn't it?

In my little synopsis of the game my biggest concern was longevity. I've put in maybe an hour in the past two weeks with the game after a few hours on the initial launch and the general buzz about the game has seemed to have completely worn off.

For a game that is 100% anchored in MP this is an embarrassing failure. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy playing it, and it was a lot of fun playing with Fijeeto and another Sherdogger, but unless I don't have anything else on my plate I can't really see myself playing it a ton and I doubt the community will stick with this thing avidly for the next few months.

I got burned badly by the hype on this one. My Xbox One was a gift but I'm beginning to wish that I had the cash to put towards a PC instead. I'm relying very, very heavily on Quantum Break, Gears (I always love gears) and Halo to make this thing worthwhile instead of just using my PS4 for everything.

Give me a fucking break, dude. The game is fun. Bottom line. If I'm having fun playing it then that's all I care about. I couldn't give two shits about a single player mode that I probably wouldn't play anyway.

I see the potential in this game and I have the patience to wait for more features, unlike the many whiney and entitled that seem to be so prevalent this gen.

You don't like the game don't buy it. Simple as that. And if this mentality rustles your jimmies, well then consider yourself rustled.

I'm not talking about liking the game or not liking it. In fact, I already own it on PC, and I am having some fun with it.

Doesn't mean I can't criticize it though!

Look at your orginal comment: "it's light on features but it's only been out for two weeks, DLC will fix that"

I paid $60, for this game, the same price I paid for some COD games, Crysis 2 and 3.

In the COD games, I got 8-10 hours of SP, MP with several game modes and options, and a third game mode (either zombies or some kind of arcade mode) on day one!!

In the Crysis games I got even longer SP campaigns and an MP mode with several game modes.

The icing on the cake is that for the past few hours, I haven't even been able to log in and play Titanfall. There are server issues so no one can play-- not even the training mode.

I really like it. Got it last week and not bored of it yet.

I mostly play PC but got this for my Xbox One as I only had Forza 5. Whenever I fancy a blast on the Xbox this is my jam. It's a nice break from Battlefield and I love the fast paced action.

Something just feels so incredibly cool about the game. The gundam-wing/armoured-core esque never really appealed to me but man, I love the titans. Nothing like meeting a Titan dead in it's tracks when you're on-foot,trying to run for your life and find cover. Also, the power/balance of the Titans just feels right, you can wreck infantry if you play right and duking it out with other Titans never gets old.

I think it's a cool game

Not sure why people are moaning that you need 1000 different rifles to level up like cod when one will do

The balance on this game is really good it think

It's just not frustrating you can always have a great game

The game is what it is. The lack of a true SP campaign and even the maps and modes weren't a big secret, respawn acknowledge what they were doing with this game from the get go. Buying a game that is basically being advertised as MP only and then complaining about it being MP only is pretty stupid.

I do understand the gripe with the lack of modes, because some of the more obvious options are just missing. They have said on twitter that there will be more modes added "soon" and hopefully they are part of the free DLC they have mentioned.

As for the servers being down, I'm bummed as well. I can't say I'm outraged though, I wasn't delusional to the point where I convinced myself that server issues were a thing of the past this gen.
