Official Titanfall Thread

Appreciate the honesty brah

Like I said, it is fun, but there simply aren't enough game modes or maps.

If you have a 360 or a decent PC, sure, get it, but you still might think it's over priced.

For the $500 you are talking about spending you are going to get Team Deathmatch, Domination and CTF across 10 maps or so, with some performance issues on Xbox One.

Agree, but not sure about the last statement with performance issues? I haven't experienced any yet.

~~Also, I'm not trying to start a flame war, but no single game warrants a console purchase. I went out and bought the ONE for Titanfall's release, but I was planning on getting it anyways.

Just going by what I've heard. I have it on PC and I have no performance issues..

Actually that's not true. The only performance issues I have relate to the crappy teams I end up with sometimes. ~sigh~

Yeah I wouldn't get an x1 just for titanfall but if you were planning on getting an x1 at some point anyway then you might as well.

It might not be as powerful as a PC or the ps4 but it's still a pretty cool system.

Lol....I hate that too. Many times I'll get rodeoed, or killed by titans/pilots while surrounded by several of my teammates.

How large is the multiplayer? 24 total?

Also what exactly is the Titans roll in the game play? Do u acquire one online, or is it an AI support role?

The multiplayer is 6v6. Each team also has a bunch of AI controlled bots.

The titans can either be piloted by you, or put on auto pilot. Every human player can drop in a titan once his timer finishes.

The game is multiplayer only.

Piloting a titan doesnt make u a beast btw, you become an easy target.

6v6? wtf? the x1 is a powerhouse, what the hell is that about?

Apparently not, once u get a few titans on screen the x1 slows down considerably (from what I've heard and seen on some videos)

6v6 isn't bad though. What is really disappointing is the lack of game modes.

The more I play the more I hate the bots being in the game. At the very best they can serve as a distraction or maybe some cover. I try to not even waste ammo on them, it's not worth the reload to be honest. Nothing more disappointing than opening fire in hopes of dropping a pilot only to find out it was a bot then while reloading getting ripped up by another pilot. That shit pisses me off. They suck, they need to go.

The game is hectic enough at 6 vs 6 wouldn't want more than that. More game modes is always nice though. Xbone runs pretty smooth for the most part, I do notice some screen tearing and some slow down but it is not frequent. I would say if I notice it about once every 4-5 matches.

Actually its 15 maps and 5 different game modes (including the best one you left out, Last Titan Standing). And about the performance issues...

So you haven't even played the game on the X1 and are telling people it has performance issues... Makes sense.

The only performance issues Ive had on the X1 in 20 hours of gameplay is lag when Im using Twitch. This game runs surprisingly smooth considering how much shit is going on at once.

Strongly disagree with this statement. When playing as a titan you can easily bring your team back from defeat. Two days ago I played with RJ43 and Gregolian and we were losing Attrition by a pretty healthy margin in three straight games. In each game we called in our Titans and turned the battle around and earned the victory. Titans are a gamechanger if you know how to use them properly.

Theres nothing more infuriating than teammates who don't help you out. The electric smoke is perfect against rodeo pilots, but its not worth equipping over the vortex shield, imo. I just stick close to my party members and scream "Get it off me!" when an enemy hitches a ride on my titan.

And to anyone who asks for help in killing a rodeo pilot... please stay still. Shooting a human off a mech is challenging enough and its damn near impossible when that mech keeps moving.

Digital foundry has an interesting write up on the performance issues. Like I said, I'm just going by what I heard.

Pilot hunt and last titan standing are just variations of team deathmatch. We all know that.

We need some objective based modes. Respawn should look at Unreal Tournament for inspiration.

The game is fun with a full party. A little but more strategy involved and isolating/double teaming titans seems to be very effective.

Any other killer apps coming out? What about Halo? I know bungee did Destiny, but are they officially done developing Halo games?

I love how you can outplay people in this game, examples include, guy shooting me in the back I stim out of the room, double jump and wallhang above the door, he runs out after me and I kill him.

or getting a guys titan to half health while dodging him using a building, drop my own titan near him and destroy him with my full health titan.

Even things like side jumping into the air can throw people off if their aim isn't on point.
