Multiplat Official Space Marine 2 Disc

Saber confirms cancellation of beta to playerbase boos. Launch sole focus in change of plans, adds developer.

Uhh, shouldn’t they be delaying the release rather than canceling the beta? I mean a beta is not meant to be simply a glorified demo. Betas are meant to serve an important QA function. This is… odd to say the least.

I'm more concerned they delayed it a full year and are still saying this.
Wildly popular if not flagship property. You’d think they’d throw everything and the kitchen sink at this from earliest concept sketches onward. Weird it’s seen so much production drag and maybe project mismanagement.

Good point on release date slack.

Occam’s razor for me on it is game isn’t even beta-build ready so they’re crunching (eating into evenings and weekends of devs, grr) to have a damage-controlled launch. Going gold is a completely foregone milestone with this news, IMO.

Concerning... but hopefully they take as long as required to iron out any bugs. We don't want any more CP2020 shit

Space Marine was awesome. It wasn't perfect but it nailed that sense of being a bad motherfucker stomping around in huge, weighty power armour. I'll be all over a sequel.

An Imperial Guard game could be great. Especially if you could roll around in these

An chaos marine rpg playing a csm in a pillaging warband, going up the ladder and chosing your gods allegiances would be quite cool too.

My most generous interpretation is that the open beta was meant to work for advertising purposes. With the game exceeding interest the open beta is no longer needed.

For a open beta in a single player game doesnt make sense.

I thought this game is supposed to have multiplayer.

Have they sold enough copies to go gold, or are they talking about the Gold edition they're selling?

Are they not referencing the game's production milestone for build quality at launch? Or are you taking the piss?

Games gone gold, release date September 9th

Well shit... this is not a good sign. Cancels the beta and then quickly says "we're done". I bet they knew they were going to find bugs which would delay the games release so they avoided it.

They're probably thinking it's close enough and they'll just patch any bugs they find after release. Standard half-assed dev bullshit in 2024.

I want this to be great... but man, this is not encouraging. I'll wait a few weeks for the live beta testing and inevitable patches to fix the release issues.

Is this game seriously like $99 bucks?!

Was gonna get a PS5 but fuck man that’s a hell of a lot for the game.

Edit: Ok guess that’s just the gold edition and regular is $69. But still holy shit that’s pricey.

It looks pretty good, but a bit too similar to their other recent works. Very Vermentide and DarkTide-esque. Really annoying how most of their games focus only on one type of xeno to be the enemy... Still going to get it, as I am a 40k fanboy.

The Sniper looks especially weak and boring. Going with Assault or Bulwark to start.

I was browsing the PS Store last night and saw a Ubi title for preorder (Star Wars Outlaws) with a price of 130€ or 140€. I don't care what edition they want to call it or even if it makes breakfast for me, that's some bull, I'd immediately thought.
