Multiplat Official Space Marine 2 Discussion

For the 40K aficionados (don't read if you haven't beaten the game)

Why did Leandros get to become a Chaplain? In the first game, he went against the Codex Astrates and instead of reporting Titus to the Chaplain of that time, he went straight to the Inquisition. Is it a punishment as I'm guessing he can't really serve with the other Ultramines and has to attend to chaplain duties or something?

Ok got a bit of time in on it. Got paired with the worst fucking pairs on PVE. They went all the wrong ways on the first mission until a massive fucking swarm showed and murdered everyone cause the one dude had run totally opposite end of map and was just Dark Souls rolling everywhere…

Campaign is fun so far, so many Easter eggs already. Just starting the Avarax missions.

So my kid is obsessed with Space Marines. Decided to print some of the stuff from SM 2.

Helmet still needs lenses and hoses (hoses came today) and both still need paint.

He wanted to go Deathwatch for the first helmet we made. So printed the DW helmet emblem and emblems for the bolt pistol as well. Need to cure and prime them tomorrow.

Who here plays the operations frequently? Anyone up for some co-op?

My previous and upcoming week work schedule has weird starting hours. So i decided to spend my free time to finally play the campaign. Few hours in and im enjoying it. My only complaint is the delay around melee combat. Need to accustom myself to the disconnect with character animations from input.

Patch 5.0 information coming in less then a couple of weeks. Looking forward to the new "Obelisk" Operation and Majoris Enemy. Haven't played Bulwark yet but some good changes for that class with the Heraldry. Finally can change the color of your visors lenses too, it's about time. People seem pretty hyped about the Mark VIII Helm too.

The Perfect Parry Window gets exponentially bigger with certain classes like the Vanguard and Bulwark. Also, picking a Fencing weapon also helps with Parry's. Picking a melee weapon that says "Block" negates it all together so I wouldn't recommend it cause not being able to Parry and get armor back is a death knell in Substantial difficulty and above.

I'm probably going to pick this up around Christmas.

I'm more interested in the campaign but I know it's short so I'm curious about the operations mode. How does it work? I know it's coop PVE, but that's about all I know.

I heard this patch brings in another operation? They're adding new Space Marine Chapters, but is that only a skin thing? Is there any story element to them?

Pretty much. They are tied to the campaign mission's story event. In one mission, a separate squad is mentioned doing a separate mission to help the main character which ends up being the first operation mission. The main character communicates with this squad during the operations so it's pretty cool that it's connected that way.

Pretty much since the story focuses on the Ultramarines. I hope there is a DLC that introduces different chapters, even as just cameos in cutscenes.

Is there any Death Korp of Krieg in this game?

The operations are actually tied into the Single Player. I don't want to spoil it for you but is cool how they integrated it with the campaign

Appreciated, thanks fellas!

I'm looking forward to it. Between this and Rogue Trader, 40k fans are eating good!

What platform you going to be playing on? I'll help you run some ops
PC whenever i pick it up. I hope it runs on the Steam Deck too, that's what my buddy plays on exclusively. We'll be balls deep in POE2 shortly too, can't wait for that.

Gotta start playing it again. Beat the campaign, planned to play some mp the next night, and then never went back..

What is the general consensus regarding the classes?
