He didn't turn away in the manner you're referencing. if you turn your back and walk away from the action and the ref stops it, Its not a foul, its quitting. That is not what Wilder did there so stop saying it. You're just making shit up hoping people reading it won't know better. Wilder threw a jab as Fury did , missed and he fell in. He didn't "turn away."
We are discussing what is literally under a second of action. Wilder was in the process of turning his head as Fury threw the punch. No one in their right mind would consider that a foul, or dirty, even if upon impact it was in an illegal zone. There are variables to rules.

He stuck his arms out and ducked away turning his head giving fury nothing to to hit but behind his ear/head, how was fury supposed to hit him legally?

Doubt Wilder ever looks the same. He just took a career altering life shortening beating.

They are actually.
Any shot below the belt is illegal, even if its not a ball shot. A punch to the hip is illegal and if a ref doesn't call it, then he's a shitty ref.
But you know as well as I do that the rule was not developed to protect mens hips.

You’re acting as if the punch was the same as if Wilder had been running away and Fury ran up and clobbered him in the back of the head. If you think that ALL instances of a punch landing in the back are the same and should be treated as such, I’d say you haven’t watched much boxing.
Nah, thats how you're all reading it. I've been very specific. The punch landed on the back of the head, which is always a no punch zone. Its hard to say if it was a real calculated shot but I felt it was a little dirty. Maybe it wasn't. Its still an illegal blow.

All right fellows. I am tired and going to bed.

Punches to the back of the head are always illegal blows. That doesn't necessarily mean it was a deliberate foul.

Yes it is. Rafael Marquez lost a point for it against Israel Vazquez, for example.
Only after multiple well below the belt shots with warnings. With Vasquez' testicles safety in mind. But it's been a real long time since I've seen those fights.

Thats not true. Russell explained that Marquez was hitting the hip to make Marquez turn away to avoid it, opening himself up for the hook from MArquez.

Like I said it's been years. Rule was still developed to protect balls, regardless.

So Marquez hit Marquez in the hip to make Marquez turn away from it which in turn opened up Marquez to be hit from Marquez’ hook?

You really should take your own advice and go to sleep...you’re drunk with rage.

Every time I come to this thread the amount of votes for Tyson going to win seems to go up. What a bunch of dorks voting after the fight takes place.:D

Rewatching the fight, Wilder looked troubled right at the start. I think he was carrying an injury.
