No Spoilers Official Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Discussion

I just checked Steam again and suddenly it unlocks in two hours instead of 17. They obviously had no clue until like 10 minutes ago, lol.

Now I don't know what to do. I was planning on crashing early. First world problems.

Judging from what I’ve seen, this thread will be chocked full of my rage and salt

There really isn’t any other gaming experience I’ve had like the first time through a From game.

If this is anyone’s first game

I have to admit I never played a From game until Bloodborne was a free game of the month for PSN last year... Shame on me, I know. I didn't think they were my type of games, fucking eh I was wrong. Played the trilogy right after BB. First BB playthrough really was special though like you said. Dat atmosphere.

One thing i noticed from a streamer playing this earlier. Is that the leg movement animations of your character dont line up with the actual movement.

You know, honestly my second kick at the can was where it was at for me. I picked up Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls at the same time in October 2011 for my PS3 and while I liked Demons Souls I wasn’t in love with it while the first Dark Souls is a top 5 game of all time for me personally.

bit the bullet and got it. Yeah, Im gonna put way more time into this than any of the dark souls games or nioh if it's like ds meets tenchu. I like the single player only aspect, and the fact that the pause button actually pauses the game. I get why the ds games didn't, but I hate it nonetheless. I like the emphasis on parrying.

The graphics from the trailers, though, lol. Doesn't look anywhere approaching that good. But it performs great, unlike DS3 did for months, so there's that.

From has never really had issues with downgrades and graphical quality. Character models have always been weird but the art direction and atmosphere is always A1.

I think youre confusing the stylised angles from the trailers and graphics.

Nah, they gussied up the trailers with more post processing and shit, as developers always do. I never expected great graphics, as I agree with your sentiment on art direction, which From could make great within their sleep.

I dont really have the game but Ill see tomorrow.

There arent any issues with graphics downgrades or anything at all.

Digital Foundry has said this is the cleanest and sharpest a From game has looked.

The combat looks a lot more my style than the SoulsBorne games. From did made Ninja Blade of all things the same year Demon's Souls came out, so they have some roots in more combo oriented hack and slash games.

I’ve never played any of the dark souls games or anything like that. Not sure if this is even similar. I am a video game simpleton. Just finished gow and loved it, would I like this? The super involved stuff like Skyrim and fallout confuse me too much to play them.
