Multiplat Official Remnant II Discussion

I won't stop until I've collected ALL THE GEAR

Like Crystal a lot myself too. That, Void, and Dragon are my go-to three. Invader has become my main class now and unlike Challenger (still my boy!), I really have to adapt sometimes relic-wise because I’m squishier.

I haven't played much Invader, but I feel like Crystal would be a good fit if you're using Wormhole. You might not move fast on uour feet, but being able to teleport away is huge. That said, Crystal's best use [for me] is when you're going to take some hits and want to just keep swinging.

No can do.

Smart use case, actually. Wormhole isn’t as tight a teleport as I’d like and sometimes has me disorientated so I eat DMG. I use his other skills more, TBH. I still play this daily so am always tweaking and synergising though.

Have you the Lifeless Heart? Doubles relic count but heals for 30%, iirc. Might be a fun fit for you if just wanting a lot of quick HP for freeroam swang ‘n bang.

I tried to farm blood essence today but no luck. I haven’t seen this mentioned online but I’ve had good luck triggering Yaesha blood moon when wearing Ravager amulet in Faithless Thicket; I go wisp hunting but no drops – maybe a lone Crystal and some ammo. Would be interested to see the backend loot table for them so I know to discern stingy from bugged. Tips?

I haven't used Lifeless Heart but I bet it's best use case is when running with a group. I ran with a couple ot Apocolypse fakers yesterday (they went down often enough to eat all my hearts so I wasn't able to heal myself to fight bosses solo) and having the extra hearts just for revives might be helpful, though I'd lose to the massive damage reduction from Crystal.

As far as the Essences, they feel completely random. Sometimes I'll get a blood moon and see zero, other times I'll be able to collect 20-30 of them. Think it's just RNG. The only reason I even shoot them anymore is because they sell for 125 scrap each. Every once in a while, I'll just offload them on Cass.

Edit: I'll also note that the experience doesn't seem to change with difficulty. Seems just as random on Apoc as it does on Survivor.

Oh yeah and @Valhoven the Invader teleport will teleport you behind enemies, facing them, if you teleport in their direction while they are targeting you. In open space or enemies that aren't aggro yet, it's just straight ahead.

The only rings and amulets I'm missing at this point are obtained in hardcore mode. So I suppose that's my next challenge.
Don't ledge yourself in Yaesha, lol. It happens. Godspeed, survivor.

Yeah, you can hold to enemy target and tighten teleport too but like I said, I really dig the Void Cloak and Reboot skills more for my playstyle. I play light armor builds so am already kitty-cat agile + archetype evasion buff; the ability to decoy misdirect and buff/weaponise those decoys when duping or then go volume-11 melee-bloodthirsty, then reboot are fun for me. I feel like Wormhole is better for Arnold-builds like yours because of your intrinsic mobility and stam penalties.

They pushed some changes. Daddy likes.

I noticed you can now favourite amulets but am still awaiting filter options for rings into categories like offence, defence, support, whatever. Way too many rings in collection now to find what I want without visual memory.

Not sure if new but accidentally this morning did a dolphin dive. Sprint with your char and then hold for jump, instead of roll, you'll do a full-blown dive to prone now. I could see this being helpful if needing to close distance on projectile-based enemies. Without the ability to shoot from prone, not a game-changer however.

I fought Ravager last night for fun and did a vampire-melee build around Bleed with Ravager amulet + Blood Jewel ring for bleed inflict on charged ATK + Vampire mutator, Siphoner respec on lifesteal et cetera. So fun.

Nightmare told and then Apoc forced me to always be well stocked on pipe bombs. Every boss gets a few pipes to the face, ESPECIALLY if they have Regen and/or Empathy.

Speaking of Melee, I tried to record but if I stopped swinging she would get out of the way; I just broke Huntress. With World's End and the Steadfast Mutator (charged attacks can not be interrupted) I had her pinned against a wall and she just stopped attacking while I swung away.

I also kind of broke Dullain. Constant melee puts you too close for him to use his tongue stab one-shot AND too close for him to throw bodies at you. The first is a one shot if it catches you no matter what, and the second can kill my tankiest build if I'm not keeping my relic buffs up. But you don't need it if you're just swinging for the fuckin fences lmfao

I think I have to fight Dullain in my current Apoc run (re-rolled for Nightweaver's Web stuff). I'll try to record the fight.

Edit: On top of the changes, I've noticed that Nimue's retreat has some new starting scenery too. Its a nice upgrade for such a wonderful lady.

My current Apoc run pulled Nightweaver with empathy and I keep missing the timing on the drain grab she does in the second phase. I built more around status effects to counter her healing but I can't win if she keeps getting 4 ticks of health because I miss the roll timing. I used my liquid death on the last attempt because it was literally like 30 minutes in. She can't really kill me but the boss fight shouldn't take that long either.

Edit: Got her ass with something other than a pure tank build. Not a perfect fight/no hit. The Challenger cheat death came in handy in the first phase because I'm a fuckin idiot, but the status effect damage came in super handy. Enjoy, with sound this time.

I'll be the last person still posting in this thread, but would anyone want to see a series on boss fights or want to see a specific boss?

Edit so as not to spam: While I have a ton of fun doing tank/melee builds I've decided to challenge myself with a glass cannon build. Not sure apocalypse is the best way to test pure damage builds since any stray hit can end me, but fuck it we ball. Rolled Losomn Nightweaver (fucking love fighting that monster) and got through Cotton Kiln pretty easily. Deceit worked well since she doesn't have weakspots. Just had to keep an eye out for the adds, but otherwise a pretty smooth fight.

I'm now trying to sneak past the Huntress because I don't care for that fight much, but she chased me down and I got one shot

Edit 2: Nightweaver is TOUGH when you have to execute. One missed timing and it's done but holy shit does she melt with a solid damage build. Kinda have to get a no-hit though. If I do, I'll post that one too.

I'll get back to Nightweaver; Ended up playing something else last night.

This morning though, I beat Apoc Tal Ratha in my undies. No armor. No defensive buffs. No defensive/healing traits. Gaining a lot of respect for the dudes who do no-hit runs of this shit.

Edit: Beat Nightweaver undies style. Let's fuckin goooooooo.

I was trying, once again, to reroll Nightweaver on Apocalypse but got Palace Courtyard 6 times in a row and got a wild itch to just melee-only Faelin.

I remembered to hit record this time and made sure to show the build at the beginning and end. Jump forward a bit to the beginning of the fight; I made a few mistakes. I don't know why I was using the Gul Serum in the first half of the fight. Maybe I forgot I was using Drakestone and Rerouting Cable? I also flop-dodged a few times to shake off stagger when I dropped my charge attacks.

Otherwise have a face-tank, melee-only Faelin fight!

And always: None of my tank builds will ever include Summons/Engineer because I don't rely on gimmicky exploits to beat up bosses.

I really enjoyed your dodge game in that Nightweaver upload, B. And nice job on Faelin. You’d pass tryouts for any major league baseball team with that performance.

It’s a shame 99% of the community runs Leto Mk. II because that’s all we have for viability at higher difficulties.

I mained light armors in my survivor and (mostly) veteran playthroughs but for nightmare – which I’m in middle of now after unlocking the Platinum trophy, fuhgeddaboudit. Much too squishy and I can’t hang. I now don Leto Mk. II + Bright Steel ring but with Red Widow masque for personal flare.

Thanks buddy! I'm still working on the no-hit naked build. I feel like I have the timings down for individual moves but damage builds mean the phases shift so quickly, so I think that's throwing me off. Nightweaver is such a fun fight. Literally not tired of doing it despite it being like 50% of my game time the last few days. Plus, I've never played a Soulslike so the dodging mechanics and shit are completely new to me. I imagine the guys who were doing no-hit apoc bosses week-one had much more experience haha.

Faelin fight is a lot of fun for melee only. The staggers are super powerful if you miss a charged swing though.

I just wish the game had some transmog options so you didn't have to look like your sister's first vibrator, armor wise. I think they made it ugly on purpose so if you wore it everyone would immediately know you refuse to use the space bar (or whatever you use to dodge on a controller). The only drip I get are the Labyrinth gloves (slightly lighter, slightly more armor), but that's like throwing a Tiffany diamond on an unpolished turd.

No one told me the twisted arbalest is this good wtf?

I'm not referring to the bore exploit. It's just a lot of fun. Been using it for goofy boss runs. It's especially good in the Asylum.

Edit: I've finally gotten the grab worked out. I just straight up wait for her to get after it and if I'm not chest to chest with her, I dodge back instead of forward. You can dodge into her swipe but that had mixed results for me. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Literally only the second move in the entire game I dodge backwards for. (Metaphysical Tal Ratha has the inverted splash wave that comes from behind and I can't think of any other move that you'd want to do that with).

But yeah the Arbalest let's me just chuck a shot around a corner to scope for baddies. I keep killing myself right when she's almost dead so I can play with builds but I'm about to run it naked with Arbalest and Neverending Nano-Swarm, or fist fight the bitch. Maybe both. The endless nature of this game is so fuckin fun.
