No Spoilers Official Red Dead Redemption 2 Discussion

Game is incredible.

Only like 4-5 missions in and I’m already hooked

That said, there’s a dude screaming in that first town Valentine about wanting a nickel or dime.... where the fuck is he and can I interact with him?

There was a beggar standing next to a building who asked for something...sometimes the voices sound close when they're a bit further off.

Arrggh. Delay at the package delivery hub.
I will get it in the mail not today but tomorrow !

so is the story just one giant tutorial or does it open up after a bit?

I wasn't going to get this until the price came down, but after reading all the 10/10 reviews and everyone else get it, I said fawk it and bought it today. They were out of the Special Edition so I went ahead and bought the Ultimate Edition. Will probably not read this thread for a while so nothing gets spoiled.

Tonight it's time to...

Went to worst buy at lunch and got it for 90 bucks with a free key chain.

Installing off the 2nd disc now.

Anyone else get free swag from the merchant they bought their disc from?

Waiting for ACG and Worth A Buys review.

Exhausted from work. Played the first chapter. Chpater 2 is where I think itll open up interms of the open world etc. Tinkered ith the aiming, found that highest aim sensitivity, coupled with 0 deadzone works best. Aiming was awesul otherwise, now its just bearable, just like GTAV.

I love the graphics, just gorgeous, the skyboxes are the best ive ever seen in any game ever, and thats just from chapter one.
Voice acting and direction is excellent, as expected of Rockstar.

Think they mightve went overboard with the animation for the looting etc. Already finding it annoying.I can deal with the clunk, Im just excited to play more tomorrow. Gonna put in a lot of hours tomorrow.

Game is a damn blurry mess on the PS4 Pro. I almost regret upgrading to it. My screen is 150in which doesn't help but the upscaling they used is surprising bad for such a quality company. If this game doesn't release for PC in the next 8 months Rockstar just might receive a suspicious package.... Full of poo.

150 inch tv? Didn't even know those existed.

Digital Foundry bro.

I watched this last night but I don't remember them even mentioning or comparing the sound quality during that long ass review.

I don't know about y'all fuckers but I spent 3k on my sound system because while visuals are great, big sound actually puts a wide smile on your face when it's really well done.

I wish. It's a medium-high end projector. The screen is 150in. It's only 11 feet wide though.

8' ceiling and 8' ladder. :)

Definitely not as bright as an HDR LCD or OLED but you can't have it all.

The game is super choppy for me at times, like riding horses at the 2nd highest speed where you just hold X. Or moving the camera around in some areas, it's really distracting. I find the movement on foot to be really clunky too, and your guy moves so slow.

Got into an argument with a guy in town who then attacked me causing me to beat him down in self defense only to then become wanted???

Which console? According to the video above the One X and PS4 Pro are pretty much 98% steady at 30fps.

The problem with 30fps is not so much that it's 30 but that even a drop of 2 frames can be felt, like you said. Where as at 60fps it takes about 5 or 6 frames to be noticed. And of course at 90 and up it takes a lot more.

I'm actually one of rare PC gamers who is perfectly fine with 30fps and sometimes I even prefer it but it needs to be steady. Assassins Creed for example, I lock it to 30fps and crank the fuck out of the supersampling.
