Part of me can’t help but think From Software had their ego bruised a bit knowing Bluepoint made a superior product to the original Demon’s Souls game. They will never ever be on that technical level. Sony should have kept them around for something else. Why not one of the uncharted or god of war games stuck on the portable machines?
Not that he'd ever shit on them openly, but since playing the remake, I imagined Miyazaki was appalled, or at least really disappointed, by how badly Blue Point butchered the details/themes of Demon's Souls. Now that we know he put the kibosh on a BB remake from them, I'm not surprised he said fuck that.
With little verbal exposition, and next to no cinematics, Miyazaki meticulously tells his stories in the vast texture details, sounds, and character models, of his environment storytelling as much as through item descriptions.
Blue Point either didn't get it, or didn't care to, focusing mainly on gameplay, and making the environments look incredible (which they do) without any thought to original intent. I noticed a bunch of issues, but two are ingrained in my mind that annoyed me.

I don't know if you played the OG, but I did, for the first time, fairly close to my playthrough of the Remake so it was fresh in my head. In the OG, right off the bat you're hit with dread. There are swarming bug sounds you'd associate with death, and some guy moaning really loudly. In the remake, you're almost immediately hit with a beautiful melody, making it feel almost tranquil instead of this oppressive nightmare. You don't find respite with the singing Queen until you've suffered your way to her floor. They almost skipped all the suffering. It would be like hearing mommy milker Gwynevere's uplifting song as you fight your way through Anor Londo, before facing Ornstein and Smough. It's a massive tonal shift

In the OG, she served a means to dupe inhabitants as a false deity (something like that) of goodness/hope by the Monk and his demons. No one is getting duped by what Blue Point changed her design as.
original: beautiful goddess, golden aura, false hope dupage understandable
Remake: horror setting and demon looking thing instead of hopeful goddess. No one is getting duped by this lol
It would have been harder for Blue Point to fuck up Bloodborne though, as less needed to be done. The game really only needs a texture upscale and 60 FPS patch with better loading times. I don't blame Miyazaki for not letting them touch it though, just wish he'd put some From Soft team in to give us a proper remaster like they did with Dark Souls 1. That could have been more ambitious, but at least the framerate was a slot smoother, and Blight Town wasn't near unplayable.
