Cool State of Play. I was not expecting that type of GoW 2D game. I figured I would be stomping around as Kratos.

Konami is killing it. That segment was the best to me. Octopus game, Silent Hill Townfall, Castlevania, and the new action JRPG.

Was I missing something? Apparently a lot of people were expecting DMC 6? Where the hell did that come from? Didn’t the creator leave Capcom recently? Also Capcom is already adverting like 5 games lol.

I thought for sure at least a Bloodborne remaster would've been out by now considering it's been a year since Sony had the 60 FPS patch shut down. Oh well.

Castlevania? Shit, I gotta check this out.

Edit. Man. I hate it, lmao. I feel like the absolute last thing that the world needs right now is another metroidvania. They're everywhere. At least it's not a roguelite, lol. I know I'll never get it, but I would love a new Classicvania game.

Haven’t they been that way for a while?

Yep. This is just a me problem. The series is mostly Metroidvania now and has been for decades. And people seem pretty happy with that direction. To me, the genre is beyond oversaturated now, to the point that this feels more like following a trend than continuing their legacy. Seeing the 40th anniversary logo with the iconic image of Simon Belmont, I just wish we had gotten anything that resembles that game, in gameplay, aesthetic, or even just a feeling. I'm old. Lol

i know i ever sound like the grinch, but that Castlevania looked far from impressive to me

Anniversary logo hyped me up and believe the series deserve much better

I mean, i was'nt even much fan of Lords of Shadow, but at least was ambitious

Just give me a full 3D remake of Symphony of the night, made by a big budget japanese team and following this artstyle

or at least make it just with aesthetic change, basically this

but better looking and bit darker

I loved Bloodstained. I will see how these games review. I think there's been many great Metroidvania games in the last few years. Even Silksong conversations died pretty fast.

Personally I'm most excited for Darwin's Paradox and Silent Hill Townfall.

At this point its difficult to get excited about anything in these annual shows.
Practically no release dates announced, just "oh we're working on this."
Including the most interesting announcement ... Remaking the OG GoW trilogy.
'Early Development '
In other words I might as well start making a list of games I'll want to play on the PS6.

Timing of how they chose to reveal stuff is weird

Like i was hoping to see next Street of Rage or Golden Axe teasers... more than one year ago they showed short clips wch were already on advanced phase, today they would surely have enough material to make decent teaser, but they don't

I would much prefer follow the development through years of stuff i like while i'm waiting it, but Companies feels terrified people can't understand "early phase, not final product" thing, wich tbh may be true since people are so fucking stupid and risk is game getting bad rep as if early phases = game

It's mid-February. I don't think it's fair to expect every developer to know the exact date they are going to release a game when there's 10 and a half months left in the year. I'm happy we got dates for Beast of Reincarnation, Marvel Tokon, and Darwin's Paradox. There's already an overwhelming amount of games to play, I know more are on the way. To me I'm not bothered if I have to wait until summer to get release dates for fall games like Silent Hill Townfall.

McFarlane attached nothing to sneeze at. Wonder how high-grade or if figurine collectible tier…

This was one of the best state of plays I've seen in a long time. That Ghost of Sparta game looks great. I'll be getting that ASAP. Konami really killed it here as well Castle Vania looks really good.
