Social Official President of the War Room Thread 2024-25

her book, 107 Minutes, claims it was the closest election EVER!

hm, Hildog any comment on that?

crickets.

Was even more awesome when nerds in here were trying to downplay it. “Well akshually it was kinda close”
No it was a fucking blow out
More voting age Americans didn't vote at all than voted for either candidate. LMAO @ downplay. It was more than "kinda close", clownshoes.

"Trump won 77,284,118 votes, or 49.8 percent of the votes cast for president."

"Kamala Harris won 74,999,166 votes or 48.3 percent of the votes cast."

"...voter turnout nationally in 2024 was 63.9 percent."

"Early election coverage described Trump’s victory as a landslide. But whether you go by the Electoral College vote or the popular vote, it was anything but. The 312 Electoral College votes that Trump won are just six more than Joe Biden won in 2020, twenty less than Barack Obama won in 2012, and fifty-three less than Obama won in 2008. Trump’s Electoral College performance pales in comparison to Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s landslide victory in 1936 (523 electoral votes), Lyndon Johnson’s in 1964 (486), Richard Nixon’s in 1972 (520), or Ronald Reagan’s in 1984 (525). In terms of the popular vote, more people voted for someone not named Trump for president than voted for Trump in 2024, and his margin of victory over Harris was 1.5 percentage points. That is the fifth smallest margin of victory in the thirty-two presidential races held since 1900."

"Although Donald Trump only beat Kamala Harris by a razor thin 1.6% margin in the popular vote, the 2024 election was in many ways a blow-out if you consider all the ballots that could have been cast but weren't.

Using data from the University of Florida Election Lab, a new analysis by the Environmental Voter Project shows that 85.9 million eligible voters skipped the 2024 general election, far surpassing the 76.8 million ballots cast for Donald Trump or the 74.3 million for Kamala Harris."

See above. Not "ever", but top 5 (since 1900) for sure.

I spit on your crickets and force feed them to you.

"Donald Trump declared on Election Night, as votes were still being counted, that “America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate.” Many media outlet echoed his claim by describing his victory as a “landslide,” “resounding,” and “sweeping.” But was it?

To answer that question, consider how the winning candidate performed in three recent presidential elections. Candidate A won 52.9 percent of the popular vote, notched 365 electoral votes, and saw his party take control of Congress by picking up eight Senate seats and twenty-one House seats. Candidate B won 51.3 percent of the popular vote, notched 306 electoral votes, and saw his party take control of Congress by picking up three Senate seats while losing thirteen House seats. Candidate C won 49.8 percent of the popular vote, notched 312 electoral votes, and saw his party take control of Congress by picking up four Senate seats while losing one House seat.

Those numbers suggest two possible conclusions. One is that Candidate A had the most impressive victory. The other is that none of the three candidates received a decisive mandate from the voters.

Candidate A is Barack Obama in 2008. Candidate B is Joe Biden in 2020. Candidate C is Trump in 2024."

Now that Trump has created peace in the middle east, maybe they'll come around.

Good luck in game 7, Blue Jays.

Passing on the good mojo. For reasons too boring to relate right now, I finally got my PC back and running almost a month after moving to a new place.

I hope it portends great base running but the mojo works in mysterious ways.
