Multiplat Official Nioh 3 Discussion

Oh wow Nioh 3 seems way shorter. This is great to hear. I enjoy these games but I don't want to play for 50+ hours. Around 30 is kind of my max for these sort of games unless it's something really special.
Nioh 2 has a long main story that’s roughly 45 hours long. The side missions are much shorter. Probably looking at 60 hours to complete all missions in Nioh 2. Nioh 3 is somewhere between 70 to 90 hours for full completion. If you bee line Nioh 3 it’s the shorter of the two. If you do everything in both games Nioh 3 appears to be the longer experience of the two. Of course Nioh 2 also has the benefit of having three extra DLC expansions. I’m just comparing base games though

Being an adult sucks. Haven’t had much time last couple of days and won’t until weekend. Other posters see way ahead of me now.

I feel that. Kids are home doing their thing after sports and wife is a choir practice tonight. I could get some time in, but tired and just want to stare into the wall.

enjoying the game so far, beat the jokatsu boss, next main mission i'm under leveled by 15-16 levels. time to do some side quests. played online co-op story mode to beat jokatsu, had fun. lots of cool environments, weapons, armor, i'm really digging it. didn't get bored once, in fact i'm still thinking about it. hard for modern games to keep me entertained, but i'm excited to keep playing tomorrow. going to do some side missions in my level range solo, then on the main mission co-op it up. don't know how or why you would want to do everything solo, that seems like torture.

I'm through the first era. Game is good but not great. Already feeling like a chore to play. Maybe Im just getting old lol

Finally played the second demo. It felt like they nerfed some areas. The crucible especially was more of a grind to get through in the first one and they got rid of the horseback boss for some reason. He was fun.

Not much time to play now but the demo expires in a couple days so I wanted to get it in. The full game might have to wait until summer though.

Nioh 2 would have been easy if you were 30 to 40 levels over every enemy. If you want more of a challenge you can beeline the main story instead. That’s basically what the first two Nioh games are. It’s just big mission after big mission so in my opinion it’s not actually easier you just have so many options to explore and get absurdly powerful. Also I felt like Nioh 1 and 2 were corridors, Nioh 3 has been refreshingly different. I’m not really understanding the claustrophobic criticism. The art direction is much better too. I’m on the first map but every region has had its own unique identity and I think the game actually looks quite beautiful. Graphics are improved. It’s okay to not like it as much. Nioh 2 is a superb game and I still go back to it every now and then. Also important to keep in mind that new game plus and DLC solves a lot of your criticisms, especially the latter.
Alright so I am happy to amend my previous complaints. The second area you go to much more challenging and the maps feel a lot more open, like you have to plot your route at times.
