Official Nioh 2 Disc: PC & PS5 Collection launch 05 FEB 21!

I summoned to beat that stupid spider. The encounter was so badly designed I didn't have the patience for it. Took 3 summons. First time the summon died. Second time I died. Third time was the charm.

Went back and did three sub missions I'd missed, including that fucker who was setting me on fire. And one which featured the first main boss in the original Nioh. The dude that swings cannon balls.

I'm also now running a complete armour set. Went from the Obsidian set to Imperial Monk, I think? It's a lot lighter. Still running a big ole axe.

Gyuki you gotta fight unlocked and hug/beat on the back legs. Watch out for stomps and jumps. Elemental attacks help, lightning and fire melt him. He's completely impervious to water for obvious reasons. I will say he was left out of the underworld and depths so I assume Team Ninja also knows he was designed like shit.

Beat Kasha this evening. Not too bad. The sub missions are beginning to wear on me, though. Wave after wave of the same old enemies gets really, really, old.

I've made it to the mission 'The High Spirited Demon' after a lengthy session today. 54 hours into the game, all told. Only played part of this mission but I fear it might have been called 'The Re-bossening'. I hope not.

Nah. But it is a pain in the ass. Probably my least favorite mission.

It reminded me of one of the later levels from the original Nioh. Can't recall the name of it but there was an enormous gimmick boss at the end of it. You had to move around hitting various points and run up and down cliffs. It sucked.

Pretty short session this evening. Took down the Owl and did the first Twilight Mission. It had a recommended level of 20, I over estimated my level (I'm 63) and it was still pretty tough. Finished it anyway.
I think they scale the enemies to you in twilight missions. I ran that level 20 one when it was up the other day too and I was taking a lot of damage from each hit that landed and I’m something like level 190.

No shame in circling back. Some duels are ridiculous if accepting them in a course of natural succession, like Saito Toshimitsu, for example.
It might be Saito, I forget his name. But that fucker with the Odachi that casts onmyo on constantly is easily the cheesiest boss in the game if you try to take him on around the recommended level. I wanted to punch whoever designed that fight

Finished tonight at the drunken boss with the flaming hair. Killed me a couple of times. Pretty cool level, reducing the water level and what not. Big improvement over the previous one, with a dopey giant gimmick boss, just like in the first game.

I'll get back to that ridiculous, pissed up dork tomorrow. I can tell it isn't particularly difficult, but once you've played for a couple of hours a step back is often required.

Yeah the gimmick boss sucks but imo wasn't quite as shitty as the giant skeleton in the first game. Shuten Doji on the other hand is probably the coolest boss in the base game.

+1 I also like to think with how popular amongst samurai Doji's heavy mask proved to smith/fashion at higher difficulties that players are paying respect to such a cool boss.

Yep. I refashioned my mask as his.

I think I played for 3 hours this evening, as I'm off tomorrow and didn't really progress. I was level 100 after beating the drunkard and the next main quest was 105. Level 104 is this spear wielding prick on a bridge. I went back and cleaned up some earlier missions. Made it to 103, wasted a lot of time dying to spear dickhead, then gave up and went to the main mission. Killed a boss (Ear anus, or whatever his name is) for the third time, then took a breather.

Enenra?

I died way more to Enenra than I thought I would. He's tricky.
First time you encounter him he's hard as nails. I fought him twice tonight, once on a sub mission I'd missed, and once on a main mission. He's so much easier.

He's easier in a sub mission? I can't remember fighting him more than once.
