Night 2 started off good with Ishii v Finlay. I really want to like Finlay more than I do, especially as this new restructuring of Bullet Club is really promising. More matches like that and better would definitely help.

Yano match was a Yano match lol

Wasn't expecting much out of the Henare v Nicholls match. First few minutes weren't anything special, but they turned things up after the headbutt spot. Hopefully they're both okay because that cut and the finishing spot looked brutal. Also glad Henare has a new look and is done with his cleaner cosplay.

Coughlin v Haste was really nothing special. Coughlin still looking promising though.

Kingston v Takagi was a lot of fun and a great G1 debut for Kingston. Really hope he continues to have a great tournament. Shingo gave Kingston a lot in this match as well to put him over with the Japanese crowd. Just wish they got a little longer.

Tanahashi channelling Pretty Deadly with his new look. I'm liking that they're leaning into Tanahashi being past his prime, and his restrictions in movement at this point in his career. ZSJ is the right competitor to take advantage of that too. Solid match.

Evil v Tama Tonga fucking sucked lmao

Solid main event between Cobb and Naito. Started off fun with Cobb taking the piss outa Naito, then got more serious as it went on. Good stuff though.

With my work schedule it's been hard to keep up live the last couple of years, but I'm trying to stay on top of it the best I can this year. So far I've watched Nights 1, 2 & 3. Looking forward to catching up with the rest this weekend and hopefully enter next week all caught up. I'm liking the aggressiveness of the War Dogs so far. It's also been cool to see Eddie Kingston get to live his dreams.

Yeah, I mean don't get me wrong, I don't miss any, I always catch up and watch them all. But there is something special about the G1 when you can keep up live with it as it plays out. What have been some of your favorite matches so far? What do you think of the new 20 minute time limit?

I think the time limit has worked so far. Especially with the new three musketeers and the story their telling. You also know guys like Evil or Chase Owens aren't gonna go over 20 minutes so that's something

The new three musketeers have been the highlight of the tournament so far imo obviously guys like Shingo, Ospreay, and Okada deliver too. There's just a lot of crap too with Hikuleo, Evil, and Chase Owens in the tournament.

I saw a clip of EVIL and House of Torture doing all of their fuckery in EVIL's match with Eddie Kingston and it made me not even want to tune in lol

Then I saw Dave gave that match a 1.5. It has to be universally bad for Dave to give a non Yano G1 match a score that low <Lmaoo>

Eddie Kingston tried but the booking was just atrocious. That wasn't even the worst match of the tournament for me haha I thought Evil v Tama Tonga was worse. I don't think Dave even bothered rating that one

It is weird too, EVIL is not even that bad. He can have decent to good matches. That House of Torture fucker just ruins everything he is involved in.

Just finished Day 4 from the 19th last night. Have to admit, I am a Yano fan, so my next statement shouldn't come as a surprise, but really enjoyed Yano/ZSJ match. It was short, told a nice little story and did it's job as the opener. I like the Yano role in these G1 matches. Gives his opponents a night off to rest up a bit while having some fun. When he gets a willing partner they can come up with some fun things and that's what this one was. Also good to see Tama get a main event win, even if it was against my boy Ishii. Overall though, I'm liking the A&B Blocks better than the C&D Blocks thus far.

I like how ZSJ had the Young Boy walk out with his jacket and entrance and they had the announcers announce him, so Yano then proceeded to beat up a Young Lion and force him to wear his jacket as a stand in for him, only for ZSJ to attack him from behind, choke him unconscious and have his Young Boy tape all the turnbuckle pads more securely so Yano couldn't use them later in the match, haha. Everything about it was good, even Yano still having tape in his trunks to tie up ZSJ on the ramp b/c the ref never had time to check him for foreign objects.
