Looks extremely nice, but something feels off
Like does'nt feels it's almost ready... for the little i seen (gave it a quick look), world feels... bit empty?
Hope is going to have not only castle/dungeons but also villages/cities
Got to remind myself game it's his own thing and does'nt sell itself as new Souls chapter

World does seem a bit empty but Zelda BOTW was the same way and everyone still loved that. Having cities\villages wouldn't be the norm for a From game so I doubt will see that beyond maybe 1 city or village.

Out of these, I think Bloody Wolf will prove popular as it speaks to the set Wolf Knight in a way, which was also popular, but for myself I'm most interested in this Prophet class; the Logarius' choker they adorn catches my eye and reminds me of fanatico-scholarly religious flagellation or devotion = pain = purity – something Blasphemous drew on and I'd loved.

e/ Easy pull from Google to share and show what I'm on about:

Yeah, I'm going to go Prophet; am also going to guess discovery will be highest amongst starting classes and From has a good balancing history with clubs across titles in my experience. Why not. Champion looks much the resident ER Cimmerians or barbarian class. I can foresee the backstory of Warriors being nemeses to Enchanted Knights with a type genocide or mass-exodus in the history there. /spitball

February felt a lot closer 24h ago. <Lmaoo>

abandoned/half destroyed cities or villages would be pretty FS actually, plus of course we seen them create Yharnham

But mostly thing is tight world design is been for long time one of most loved traits of their world, if world wil end up be just bunch of empty land to roam and take on isolated random enemies without much thought seems... pretty far from FS phylosophy, no?

I'm not much concerned if everybody will or not like it, i hope i will personally love it as i loved Demon, the 3 Dark and Bloodborne

What i'm saying is i hope the open world end up being an element that add to the experience, and not just an attempt to get more mainstream money

Well I suspect the castles/dungeons will be their return to normal stages that we are used to. Just spread out over a large map instead of interconnected. I’m sure they will all have different setups where some are cities/villages.

I thought you meant cities/villages that would be in more traditional games. With villagers and shops.

Dizz, you were able to get the Standard CE? I've been trying to get the PS5 CE instead of the Deluxe since preorders went live but they've been sold out; saw a number of which thrown up on Ebay in salt meet wound. The Premium CE is 260€ in Europe which has the numbered helmet replica – something I might be down for if available where the Standard CE (190€) is not.

I don't know if anyone else pointed this out or not, but if you slow down the combat with the dragon (use .25) you can clearly see that the character is blocking the attack, but is still sent flying back. However, he quickly rolls into a stance. It's a small detail but I love how so much more weight is given to these encounters. In other Souls games (didn't play much of Sekiro) you could be sent back in a block, but it didn't feel as natural as this does, if being attacked by a dragon can feel natural lol. It always felt like you do when you fall to your death, aka instant terminal velocity as though you were being sucked down.

So I haven't paid much attention to the Elden Ring hype, because much of it was based on George RR Martin's limited involvement, but after watching the new demo I am intrigued.

Anyone have any videos that explains what the story is supposed to be like? Because it seems like a next-gen Witcher/DarkSouls game.

Nah it really wasnt. Much of it is due to it being a new FromSoft game thats changing the style up a bit. Miyazaki wrote the game from notes he got from GRRM.

No one can say for sure, but Im assuming itll be more straightforward like in Sekiro. Like all From games, lore will also be included in item descriptions, notes, sidequests, etc.

Due to the open world nature, Im assuming the game will be easier than other From games, as open world games need to account for more variance in player exploration but no one knows.

Im most excited since Miyazaki is taking inspiration from a GOAT tier game Breath of the Wild and mixing in that Soulsborne flavour. Here's hoping it reaches the heights of Dark Souls 1 and Bloodborne.

Was playing Cyberpunk but then thought i'd go back to Bloodborne because of the Elden Ring gameplay. I put the BB disc in, ps4 made some demonic noises, then told me the disc was dirty and couldn't play, i ejected and looked and there was suddenly a bubble on the disc. Well shit.

The impression I got from the gameplay trailer was that it'd be a fantasy open-world, but not 'lived in' like Witcher 3 that has towns and cities of NPCs.

It reminded me of God of War 2018, in the way it seemed like a giant world but it seems like you're the only one there, that its a video game world built for the player with designed topography and obstacles.

Say what you want about games like Skyrim and Witcher 3, but at many points of the world it felt immersive, like you're exploring an actual world. I never got that feeling with God of War, and I'm feeling like I'm not going to be getting that feeling with Elder Ring.

I'm hoping I'm wrong.

Plague lumps, my good sir, from excessive exposure to Orphan's placenta. Get thee to Iosefka's at once!

Bandai has published official specs and compatibility. I made screengrabs for PS, Xbox, PC to simplify and will upload below.

One caveat to PS Tarnished – your savefile will carry over if you later path to PS5 from PS4, but native PS5 savefiles will not take if later downgrading to the older-gen models, i.e., you need stay on the 5 if you'd purchased on the 5.

Itll be like a BOTW open world but with a FromSoft flavour. It wont be like a TW3. Sure they give the illusion of havin people living there but the AI is pretty much the braindead version you can find in Cyberpunk.
