It looks fine and I'll play it for sure cause it'll scratch that itch, but let's be real here: this is 'just' Dark Souls 4. The premise doesn't even stray that far from the beaten path.

Engine is starting to show its age as well.

It looks more than okay, but I think the reveal trailer had me hoping for something a bit more and or different.

Sekiro trailer definitely had me hyped much more.

I've played several games with much deeper combat systems than DS. In fact, my first Souls game was DS3 and I played that after GOW and many other games with great fighting mechanics. DS doesn't have to have the deepest system, in fact, outside of the RPG elements, it's pretty bland. You dodge, roll and attack. But the shallow system had very little to do with why I loved the game. There is so much more to the series that makes it special.

My only gripe with sekiro is that it is more for Dark Souls players like parrying. You can stand still and win every boss fight if youre a deflect pro.

Still an amazing top-tier game though

Dark Souls is Sekiro for people that like rolling around on the ground for hours.

It's so funny a lot of Souls players always like to pound their chest about how difficult or elite those games are. Yet I don't consider myself anything special and I finished all of them.

Starting to watch high level fighting game competition, it's very clear that shit is MILES ahead when it comes to the crazy difficult department in speed, execution and improvising on the fly. I bet a guy like SonicFox would absolutely crush Sekiro in no time. Maybe he has, I don't know if he plays these kind of games.

None of that takes my excitement for them away though, you do make a great point about that they always feel special.

What a weird comparison with absolutely no relevancy.

Yes, succeeding at the top of the fighting game world is more difficult than beating Dark Souls.

Stop being such a triggered bitch.

It’s SO funny how a lot of dudes at the Y always like to pound their chest when they hit a 3 pointer.

Starting to watch professional basketball and it’s clear that shit is MILES ahead when it comes to speed, execution, and athleticism. I bet a guy like Lebron would crush those guys.

Looks fucking fantastic. Now just hoping they make it uh, more accessible, for people like me.

Jason Schreier made a joke about the game being delayed and there are already articles on it.

My man, I never even mentioned the difficulty. I enjoyed the game for the ambiance, its music, its design, and character creations. I loved the scope of how big some of the areas were and the feeling it gave you knowing something weird could jump out at you. You may not like the game, but they're universally loved for a reason.

I know all about fighting games as well. I'm a huge street fighter fan making it to Ultra Plat and competed at EVO 2019 in SFV. Even made it out of pools going 4-2. I'm not a technical god by any means, but I was decent. Still, Isshin, the Sword Saint took me over 10 hours to beat. It was a stomping.

Yeah same here. The only elitism I see from Souls fans are the ones who play PVP lol. Otherwise they are typically very helpful and want others to enjoy the experience of "gitting good"
