Im 99.9999% confident that we will see the Elden ring trailer on June10 at the summer game fest
I'm trying to temper my expectations, but I'm so damn eager for this.

If it does get its gameplay/release date reveal, the only thing that will suck is not having a crowd reaction to it. I'm already embarrassed at my eventual personal reaction to it lol

Holy fuck boys, it's been two years since it was announced, and could be revealed today!

I hope Keighly doesn't have any musical performances and just plays trailers with a few interviews from devs. If ER is shown, I'd like to hear from Miyazaki and GRR

According to this schedule, if we are going to see it, will prob be tuesday (Bandai). Hopefully the trailer is out today and more gameplay/Miyazaki interview Tuesdayjpg.jpg

I have the worst feeling in my gut that this game is going to suck.

Demon's, Dark and BB are some of my favorite games of all time. All good things must come to an end and such

Even the worst of the bunch, Dark Souls 2, turned out to be an above average game after going through development hell.
Fromsoft is one of few companies that still has my blind trust.

Back in 96 I felt the same way about SquareSoft. I don't blame you and I hope I'm wrong
Now Square is a cash grabber:
Rushed and unfinished games, 10+ years of development hell per game. Mobile games with pay to win micro transactions, $30 DLC with base game story content, Fragmenting game plots amongst multiple titles on different platforms.

The only good thing to come out of square in the past decade is Final Fantasy 14’s reboot.

I say all of this being a massive square nuthugger back in the early 2000s.

I'm of the exceedingly unpopular opinion that the glory of SquareSoft ended almost immediately after Final Fantasy IX, and almost invariably. X was missing some serious magic. I view Kingdom Hearts and especially Dragon Quest VIII as exceptions (DQVIII is one of my favorites of all time), but XIII, all the spinoffs, even the VII remake is just so disappointing. They're mutilating it. I think maybe the most painful one is XV because there was some groundwork there for an amazing game. The characters were wonderful. The world was gorgeous. But they couldn't rope it all in with a good story and you need that in an FF game.

I played FFVI, Chrono Trigger and SMRPG back to back. I couldn't believe how good it was. Even then as a kid I was asking myself "Stuff can't always be this good, can it?"

It cannot.

I think a lot of the original square fans agree with you. I used to see that statement a lot back when Final Fantasy 13 came out. Older fans were claiming that square hadn’t made a solid FF since 9. I think a lot of those original fans have moved on, and now the Fanbase consists of a younger audience With lower standards, more interested in the anime aesthetics rather than the gameplay value.

I’m hoping Final Fantasy 16 brings that magic back, but I’m not getting my hopes up. I have faith in that director though. He single-handedly saved Final Fantasy 14

His story summarized:

FromSoft can do no wrong. They've been knocking it out of the park for over a decade now. Demon's Souls, the Dark Souls trilogy, Bloodborne, and Sekiro is an incredible lineup. I have full faith in Miyazaki and his team, and actually appreciate that they're not building up hype unnecessarily like CD Projekt Red did with Cyberpunk. Patience brothers!

I'm realizing as I'm watching this presentation that I don't give a shit about any of these games. Christ they look awful

Summer cringe fest.

Yep most of the games I just don't care about. And many look low budget low effort.

And what the hell do Ian Malcom and Ryan Gosling know about games anyway? Why are they on this presentation?
