No Spoilers Official Black Myth: Wukong Discussion

Chapter 6 is more frustrating due to the map rather than the bosses. They were all fairly easy once you beat the inspector, except for the horse, he was kind of a bitch.
The deer sucks. The rhino is also tedious with the stupid horn mechanic

I'm at the last two bosses gents. Idk if I can do this.

I struggled early with the last boss. I could clear the first phase pretty easy but when he split in 2 I would get smashed. Once I figured out they won't let you focus on one and take it down, and pretty much force a tag system (a few bosses do this), I quickly got his rhythm down. He will suddenly drop back when he's taken enough damage and the other one always tries to jump smash you. This attack is super easy to perfect dodge and punish. I had the Galeguard armor that added to the perfect dodge window and had my build targeted for building focus. It only took me a few tries after I filed in his tag system.

Erlang, the secret last boss for the true ending absolutely fucked my shit up like 50 times. I tried tons of builds and tactics, and finally took him down through pattern recognition and memorizing all of his phases.

Curious what everyone’s top 5 hardest bosses were. If they had to rank them.

Not sure who takes the 5th spot, but there were 4 that gave me fits.

1. Erlang
2. Scorpionlord
3. Supreme Inspector
4. Blacksmith

The black smith timing fucked me up, but he didn't scale well since he is a fairly early boss. Was able to overwhelm him with later game gear and abilities. He has surprisingly low defense.

Interesting that you didn’t add Yellow Long. I really wish the game would keep track of boss deaths since this game was so boss heavy.

Mine would be

1. Yellow Long
2. Great Sage
3. Erlang
4. Yellow Brow
5. Tiger Vanguard

Tiger Vanguard may not objectively be one of the hardest bosses but it was a struggle for me. Also probably my favorite fight outside of Great Sage.

There’s no doubt Scorpionlord would have been 1 or 2 but after giving him a few shots I went venturing to level up not knowing I wouldn’t be able to come back. Dude was tough.

Wouldn't be Able to come back? Does he despawn?

Basically, yea.
If you end up fighting Duskveil before beating Scorpionlord, Scorpionlord busts out of the ground and attacks Duskveil and you end up losing the 1v1 regardless if you die in the fight. I knew some bullshit like that was going to happen so I died on purpose and went back and he was gone.

I did that on accident with Scorpionlord. He smashed me over and over again with his long combos and crazy reach. Decided to come back and try later. Oopsies. I actually never beat him.

I certainly died to Yellow Loong a handful of times, I just don't remember struggling with him. I feel like he had a pretty small moveset and got his rhythm down pretty quick.

I also ground out some serious levels at the spider cocoons so I could unlock all of my desired skills and not have to bounce attributes back and forth for different scenarios, so I was pretty beefy going into the end of Chapter 4.

That's one thing I didn't do is grind. I honestly felt like the game got easier the more skills / attributes you got. But I would have loved to have had at least two stances fully decked out. IIRC, in Nioh, you could seamlessly switch between stances which made the combat so incredible.

Currently nearing the end of Chapter 3 on NG+.

One thing I noticed is how much more exp you get. It's pretty crazy how much more it is.

I would love to get the platinum for this game now.

I ran out of steam in chapter 3 on my NG+ run. Was enjoying smashing my way through, but hit Buddha temples and just completely hit a wall. Will probably pick back up with DLC. May get closer to the end to position my character to take on where any entrance criteria might be.

Ya know, kinda funny you mentioned running out of steam on it because I'm starting to feel that too.

Idk dudes. This cheating assed monkey, idk if I'm gonna bother with it

You'll get it. At one point I felt like his life drained faster the more I get him down. Also, I didn't really use many attributes outside of cloud step to heal 2nd stage.
