There’s a leak going around of the F2P BR map and everyone is liking what they’re seeing.

The arena is designed around smartly interlinked POIs including a beach, lighthouse, sprawling golf resort, and underground metro system in addition to more open areas for what I assume is range and vehicular limelight. Setting is modern.

The arena shrinks over time as the map burns, closing in on players and igniting those who touch it.

There are squad ops going on as well as counter-ops where your objective can be in direct opposition to another squad on the map.

Good stuff. Interested to try it out.

That’s cool, sounds similar to battlefield 5 firestorm? I’m in.
For those that never played it was copying CODs gas/closing circle but with fire instead. Discourages camping and keeps you on the move. I liked it and racked up hundreds of hours on it. (I used to live on BF5 after work).

Real talk, fellas, this game looks fantastico. Holy crap. I'm 100 jumping into the two beta windows.

I saw this slab by slab, link by link fence destruction by an LMG in one of the reveals yesterday and...man, wow. I could feel the dematerialisation hitting me in the face.

There's also Rainbow Six-esque floor and wall destructo to breach and surprise-attack an enemy element. Up close dog tag removal goes hard, too.

And heaps of cover this time around for proper firefights with less inter-POI open space that previously had snipers creaming their pants scopes.

Concerns I have that I'll be looking for in beta are the visual clutter and general chaos. While true to form, it does look borderline bananas to take cover when tanks show up. I remember someone saying shotguns are ridiculous right now so balancing is another thing I'd like to feel out.

My pipe dream would be longer TTK, too, but I know that's not happening. Maybe there's a plate system to overclock HP and eat a couple shots?

Hitreg, audio, and all the usual suspects are musts as well, naturally.

Confirmed scoreboard is already a W. 2042 was so tone-deaf, lol. Know your playerbase. Derp.

My body is ready for next Saturday.

Seems like the reveal was very well received and has generated tons of hype.
The time is now for Battlefield to scoop up the COD refugees that have been left behind by the broken skin/slop vending machine.
Im very excited to try out the beta next week.

This looks promising. Even if it is an updated re-skin of BF 3/4 then count me in. BF1 was great, but the next 2 installments didn't live up to the hype.

I took the plunge and pre-ordered. It's extra risky for me since I live in Africa now so even with great internet I'm probably playing with a crappy ping against German people, but it sounds like this could be a return to the BF 3 & 4 eras which were my fav so I can't resist

The environmental destruction looks meaty but I really love the player animations/locomotion. It looks like a total blast to run around and navigate obstacles.

I hope this is the banger it looks like. I've been itching for some Battlefield and this invokes BF2 and Bad Company 2 for me, some of my best gaming memories.

Give me the theme and a killer intro!
