Official Apex Legends Discussion w/ Gamertag List

I didnt know that although I believe you can see the footprints or water splashes if he walks on water.

Yeah, you can even see shuffling in grass too. You can hear him just like any other footsteps. But by the time a Mirage has ulted, you are probably already in a fight and won't notice those things at all.

My son got the double-win to get that LMG skin on the first day. His method was to drop away from everyone, because if you drop hot and turn people, all they'll have on their mind is revenge!

Don't SHOOT unless you absolutely HAVE to. He used Bangalore, edged the circle and avoided the shadow beasts. He got close to the ship and popped his ult AT the ship. It one-shots the shadow beasts and cleared a path for him. He made his escape!

I made it to the 10 survivors and came across a pathfinder. As soon as he sees me, he starts BLAZING AWAY. I'm like "Seriously?!?!", so I took off towards the ship and he got gangplowed by the shadows. :)

I've come CLOSE using his strategy but no double win yet.

I haven't won a single game lmao.

I'm never good at these type of game modes.

You haven't won as a shadow? That's easy, just kill the red. :)

Don't' forget that you can climb any surface as shadow by holding down the climb button/key.

I haven't been a shadow! It's so easy to get to top 10, but I can't make it to the ship!

Apparently, reading about it on Reddit, it's getting easier to win as a legend because so many people leave once they get killed, so there aren't a ton of shadows.

Maybe I could get myself killed early and play as a shadow.

i actually got the shadow part first , just wait at the spwan of the escape ship as everyone will be running there.

This event is a total fuck up man fuck everyone who are squading up before the 10man limit, such BS and not fun at all when assholes are playing this way go play squads you dumb fucks smh

Its either hide and hope for the evac ship ends up being next to you or team up ahead of time with your girlfriends than every hoe for themselves when ship arrives.

Fuck this new mode and the bitch ass losers who team up while playing solos....Fuck you!

This might be the angriest I've seen you post here!

I don't really like the Devotion skin and never use the gun, so I don't care about that challenge. The rest of the "earnable" stuff is garbage. So, I'll keep playing Squads instead.

I meant here in the Apex thread, haha.

I post occasionally in the Heavies, but rarely pay attention to it.

Solo squad wipe for the win after I couldn't find a single beacon for my random team mates after the first ring feels good.

And they both stayed!

I tried this game today for the first time. I’m usually a COD guy but I thought it sounded fun. Played about 6 matches and didn’t get a kill. It seems like there’s a lot of equipment and different skills and stuff that I don’t know how or when to use.

If you're a half (or quarter!) decent FPS player, I recommend persevering. I'm sure I remember most of us at the start of this thread saying that we sucked and weren't getting kills. But when you start to get an idea of the various weapons (and which ones you like), and by extension what ammo you need to be looking for etc., I imagine it'll start to come together for you. A breakthrough for me was understanding the attachment interface too, so when you're in front of an item on the floor I knew if it was applicable to one of my weapons. Probably massively obvious to other folk, but I know that I didn't understand it all right away.

You're right in that there is a lot of game-specific knowledge you need to develop, but that just comes from getting involved, running about the maps, learning where clusters of supply bins are, getting to know the characters abilities to suit your own style /preferences and whatnot.

Getting stuck in like that is just more enjoyable once you've got a couple of weapons you know you can use well.

Thanks for the tips. I’ll keep at it and see if I can get more familiar with the game, and I’m sure it will be much more fun when I’m not just a moving target for everyone else. I guess I thought because I’m decent at COD it would translate over, but that wasn’t the case.

The biggest tip I can give you is to go to the training mode and use every single weapon for a minutes shooting at different ranged targets to get a feel for each gun. That way you won't be surprised or overwhelmed by a gun's recoil or fire rate (in case of single fire weapons).

After that, just get used to the movement in the game. With a long time-to-kill, movement is super important for surviving gunfights or escaping unwinnable situations.

Other than, you just gotta put the time in to improve. A big issue with BR games is that the further past the release date you get, the higher the average skill level is. So it's probably way harder to learn the game now than it was when it first came out. So put in the time and grind it out until you start to improve.

Lot of decent tutorials on YouTube as well. I'll see if I can't dig some up in a little while.

Also being blessed with team mates that want to work as a team helps massively, of course.

I don't mean pro-style levels, while you're balancing character abilities in the squad and all that. Just helping your squad out, reviving/respawning ASAP, etc.

Thanks. I think as I gain familiarity with the maps it will help a lot as well. I’ll keep grinding.

Just hit plat babay!

back to back +300 ranked matches to get there.

I'm not Shroud or Nicewigg, but I'm a fairly decent Titanfall 2 player. The transition from TF2 to Apex was a ROUGH one for me at first. I hung in there and I don't think I'll ever unlock the 20 kill badge, I have a ton of fun with the team dynamic, weapons, and abilities. Stick with it and try the training mode as much as it takes.
