Obesity by State

Damn, California has a giant population, is the richest, is one of the most politically liberal, and also one of the least fatty of all.

It truly might be the goat state after all.

@Corona @Revolver
the gigantic immigration population screwing the numbers, and you're getting this map all wrong. These rates are very high vs staggeringly high.

I've been reading books about negative ions of late. No mention in the books about weight loss, but they do mention how studies have found negative ions are with lowering stress, lowering serotonin levels. I've seen mentions that increased stress levels can result in weight gain. The mountains states, such as Colorado are more likely to have higher negative ions in the air. I have wondered if that is why the mountains states see lower levels of obesity levels. Hard to say.

The Serotonin and Weight Gain Connection: Understanding the Link with Depression

Serotonin, often referred to as the “feel-good” neurotransmitter, plays a crucial role in our overall well-being, influencing everything from our mood to our appetite. However, its impact extends far beyond just making us feel happy. In recent years, researchers have uncovered a fascinating connection between serotonin levels, weight gain, and depression. This complex interplay of biological factors has shed new light on the challenges many individuals face when dealing with mental health issues and weight management.....

Goat state fasho. Lmao at the fatasses in flyover states.
Not mention all of the jacked mofos that are considered overweight and possibly obese according to BMI. Even I'm 26.8 BMI which is considered overweight, even though I'm only 18 percent BF right now.

Look at Colorado being all smug. You think you're better than the rest of us?

The fat baby Huey fuckhead Governer JB Pritzker accounts for at least 17% of Illinois 33% all on his own

@TeTe

And the rough news is that the states with the lowest obesity rates are the ones with the highest per capita homeless populations, so they seem to just have more people smoking crack and shooting heroin instead of eating crap.

The numbers have got to higher than that. All of them.

Yeah, low immigration states like the Dakotas and West Virginia are doing great.

"The immigrants mess everything up" is just a reflex to you guys, isn't it? Pretty soon, bad weather will be the immigrants' fault.

Was in a all-inclusive resort in Cancun a month ago.

Hung out at the beach and pool most of the time, I can confirm that I understand why the "fat american" stereotype exist. A very large percentage of the obese people spoke English without accent, and they are also the ones in restaurants eating fries/hot dogs even though there were plenty of other food available like steak/ribs/fish/salad etc...

If obesity is when BMI is >30, then every sherdogger is obese.

BMI measurements do fail when it comes to measuring people with muscle, but that is not the issue generally across America. It is not too many muscular people skewing the data.

As a general indicator the BMI does just fine.

To be fair, the south got some insane fried chicken...
Well yes, if you take into account how good the food in the South is compared to everywhere else it makes sense.

What are they eating in Louisiana and Mississippi <6>
