communism, much like capitalism, typically requires some state fascism to silence opposition. zohran's a democratic socialist. there's a lot of the same policy and theory but the power ultimately lies in the hands of the people, as it almost always should

He was born in Uganda and has Ugandan citizenship, really not that much of a stretch compared to Warren applying as a Native American. I'm multiracial and depending on the form and its options I will check the races of both my parent' races. In fairness the question seems to have asked about race and not nationality so your average American would not think of someone like Mamdani, born to parents of South Asian descent in an African country, as "African" while they would think of Idris Elba, born in the UK, as one. Overall its a nothingburger though, whatever you think of Mamdani I don't think its unreasonable to believe that he perceives himself as African having been born in Africa and living there in his early years.
