Ok, this made me break out into laughter

So you agree with the man. Here’s some newer information on mamdani’s relationship with nypd and what his plans are for the future.
He claims he will keep the department staffing “flat” meaning the number is set to remain the same, however, that doesn’t account for officers that will leave when he officially becomes mayor. While the nypost has reported that many officers have filed their papers for retirement, the number remains unclear or even contested. The post is known for unreliable reporting in the past and is seriously biased even in the best light available.
I have already mentioned often, that he claimed the Nypd was “racist, anti-queer, and a threat to public safety and that defunding the police absolutely needs to happen” but he has since apologized to the nypd-which erases what he said and makes everything ok and nypd officers should feel honored to work under a man that clearly has their back. He so said the following about the nypd training with the idf.
At a 2023 event, he said, “When the boot of the NYPD is on your neck, it’s been laced by the IDF.” When asked by CNN’s Anderson Cooper about the comment, Mamdani clarified, “It was a reference to training exercises that have taken place between the NYPD and the IDF.” So in general, he doesn’t believe too strongly in law enforcement and would rather take a more progressive approach to “public safety.”
Again, this fuck is very anti police, anti Israel.
He also said he won’t defund the nypd and will keep funding the same, however, he has already laid out how he will defund the nypd. In their budget, there is funds for training and equipping officers to handle mental health calls but he said he will start a public safety division staffed entirely with civilians such as social workers, mental health counselors, and so called “violence interrupters.”
But this new unit does not include police-so once again, like in 2020, we are sending unarmed people into the fray where they will collide with mentally unstable people, the homeless-mostly mentally unstable, and drug overdoses and calls. If anyone has ever witnessed someone being given narcan, when they come out of it, they are sometimes very violent. Sometimes, it’s confusion about what has occurred-other times, they are fucking pissed that you just not only ruined their high, but until the narcan is out of their system, they won’t be able to get high which can take 24 hours.
The first time I ever was around someone being narcanned, it was a teenager in a bathroom that was wearing multiple fentanyl patches and injected heroin. When he came around, the fight was on with us wrestling him in a tiny bathroom. One of the firemen got knocked into a cabinet and split his head open.
The second time I was around narcan, it was a crack whore than ran out into the street to flag down a regular customer and she got run over by a trailer the truck was pulling-great video on traffic camera and we watched many times to ensure that we got the sequence of events correct in the report-run out into traffic followed by both sets of wheels of the trailer bouncing high in the air as it launched off of her. He took her to his home where she shot up heroin and immediately overdosed. According to a witness, he kept trying to fuck her as she was od’ing and the witness called for assistance-not him. First off-fucking gross all around. Second, he almost caused her death. When we showed up with the fd as we did on every overdose per department policies, she was almost dead. The firefighter wanted to inject her with a dose directly to a vein. I asked him if he was fucking crazy to stick a needle into that disease factory since nasal narcan had just come out. So he agreed to try that first and she freaked the fuck out the next second as she came out of it-with us having to restrain her. Keep in mind, the guy that ran her over was trying to fuck her and her top was mostly undone and the struggle released her left boob like the fabled kraken and it flopped directly onto my forearm, causing me to scream “get it off get it off” like it was burning my skin. My point is that you don’t always get a thank you for saving someone’s life and they can be very violent.
Then you have the violence interrupters-which are controversial to put it mildly. Mixed results and debate as to whether you can actually measure the crime that doesn’t occur, whether crime that does occur could be thwarted with interrupters, and whether funds are better spent elsewhere. They are usually former gang members and felons out of prison that try to stop beef from escalating. Sometimes the beef escalates anyways, sometimes it doesn’t, sometimes the interrupters become victims, sometimes the interrupters are still in the game/gang and it makes things worse, and sometimes being around thugs again draws the interrupters right into their old life.
And Where does the money come from to staff this division? Well, according to what I have read, it comes from the the money that was earmarked for the department to use towards this purpose in the form of training and equipment and overtime-so technically, he is defunding the police by directing the funds elsewhere. Personally, I think once he gets his feet under him, he will resort to real defunding and revert to his anti police opinions-which I know don’t leave him-he just apologized and vowed to work with the nypd to win the election.
Another plan he has is closing rikers island-which isn’t his idea, it was ordered by a judge. He calls rikers a stain on nyc. To take its place is four regional jails that will cost at least 10 billion to build. The real problem comes from the capacity of these four jails-about half of what rikers currently has and that is a drop in the bucket compared to what rikers has had in the past and is capable of. So he says he will close it asap, but that leaves much less beds open for criminals meaning even more will be on the streets than is occurring now-and we see how not locking up violent offenders works out for normal people-or as they are seen by the offenders-future victims. Between alvin brag’s progressive prosecution-also known as not prosecuting most offenders, and mamdani’s anti-police, anti-criminal justice, anti-incarceration, anti-punishment, and anti-consequences-nyc is going to be a revolving wheel of recidivism and even more innocent victims of violent pieces of shit.
He has decided to keep Jessica tisch on as nypd commissioner-however, he has never actually spoken to her about this appointment. He admitted during an interview that he hasn’t asked her yet despite agreeing to do so to keep nypd officers from fleeing whomever he would replace her with-most likely, an extremely progressive choice. However, he has plenty of time to get rid of her and replace her with something worse. They vastly disagree on several issues like the violent gang member database, which he says mistreats people and she says it’s insane to not keep a database to solve crimes. From having put one together before, I can tell you that it is a quick reference for who is with what gang, who associates with who, and is handy when you have a known gang member accused of a violent crime-you simply look to see who they hang out with as an idea to point you in the right direction for additional possible suspects.
They also disagree on how much power civilian oversight committees have to discipline officers. He is obviously in favor of giving them even more power including the power for them to fire officers and she doesn’t want them to have that kind of power as they are almost exclusively anti police activist types with zero knowledge on police policies and more importantly, use of force knowledge and expertise.

So you agree with the man.
The United States is Not a Singular Policy Force, like Europe or China. Not quite sure where you are seeing agreement there. I don’t specifically state all my issues with his ideas for police work in this post-but I have in multiple others.
Personally, I think if he could do away with the largest police department in the US- not the world because many European countries have a singular police force and there is always china as well. But he has said he would like to rebuild and reimagine public safety-which means a new department like Minneapolis tried to do but voters rejected it. If he could greatly defund the police, he would do so. If he could spread progressive policing citywide, he would. He would reduce the number of police, their funding, and their authority. He already declared that he will go through with closing rikers which will flood the streets with criminals that should be locked up because the capacity is half of what rikers can hold.
I could go on at great length
What self respecting American cares if the Mayor of NYC is anti-Israel?
Any American who considers Israel in their political calculus is insane.
That country is committing genocide as we speak, in spite of the "peace deal".
They influenced our decision to wage an illegal war on Iraq and have repeatedly tried to coax us into a war with Iran.
They have absurd levels of direct influence in our elections and our political decision making.
We give them BILLIONS and they provide nothing of value to the USA.
No other country in the history of America has ever had this kind of of hold or privilege.
Meanwhile, the POTUS has threatened Canada a thousand times since January.
Sorry suckers...
The United States is Not a Singular Policy Force, like Europe or China.
hochul is a fucking clown (so is mamdani-but I have already said that a bunch) and she is in the pockets of the billionaires and will fight him on this aspect in order to keep their campaign cash coming in and further enriching herself and her friends.
Do you see how easy it is, to calculate for that extra hour for pay?Not sure what you are stating here-that is what I said. The US has over 18k police departments and the nypd is the largest by far. He and bloomburg-who once famously said that he had to talk with his black kids about the dangers of police, are the most anti police oriented mayors in nyc history and mamdani alienating the largest police force in the US has disaster written all over it. These dumb twats elected him and I hope they enjoy what they get as we watch an American icon city flounder under his leadership. I don’t envy their choice, though, because the other two were nightmare candidates as well, and as much as I would have also hated to see cuomo elected because he is a twatwaffle as well, he likely would not try to gut the nypd like mamdani would do if he had the chance

Sounds about right.
But he doesn't bother going into the effects of the crime rate spiking, or the mass retirements and resignations from the police.
Imagine believing raising taxes, inflation, & increasing regulations doesn't raise prices.

You felt Mamdani's position related to Israel was important enough to put in your post.Cute-so I am anti American now or at least “not a self respecting American?”
I have repeatedly decried Israel for the starvation and attacks on Gaza.I blocked many twitter accounts because they post dead children over and over again-one after the other it what are likely bot accounts under different names-but I don’t want to see those images whether they are real or ai. But as pro Palestinian protesters in nyc and too many other cities have demonstrated over and over again-being anti Israel also translates into anti Jewish sentiments as well as many of them cheering on hamas-which is just evil.
I have also decried-multiple times-the amount of money we give Israel in exchange for relatively little in return. They feed us information-but no idea if it is correct or propaganda and they provide us with an ally and a foothold in the area should we ever need it and we are sorely short on allies in that region.
But on top of everything else mamdani says about racist and dangerous police, the apologizing-but also claiming the nypd has their boot on the citizens’ necks-he is simply not fit to run nyc and especially the nypd.
NEW YORK -- A new report from the NYPD's court-appointed monitor says the department still has plenty of work to do to address racial disparities in policing.
He just doesn't have the power to get the things done that he wants to do. It's no different than any other polictician promising things that they know they can't deliver because they wont be able to get approval from all the people above them. This is gonna be a really interesting social experiment. I'm glad I'm not a New Yorker. If mamdani and his socilst white middle class voters are correct this should go great. If they aren't? White women are absolutely fucked in that city. Literally. And probably the ones who voted for him the hardest.
Popcorn time. Terrible outcomes.
However.
I think he does fuck all either way. Just said the necessary to get into power.
