The UFC should market her as the “the first gay champ”

Better yet she can get a role in the next planet of the apes movie, those movies are doing very well in the box office way more better pay then the UFC.So not a marketable champ, but could be a marketable chimp?
Years back, every champ will fight to defend their own titles, hardly question about the pay and publicity.
Nowadays, just becuz Conor/Rousey make tons of money, the rest started to ask for similar treatment.
Yes, Nunes isnt blonde and beautiful, so its normal that UFC find it hard to promote her compare to Ronda or even Holly. But she is a fighter, just defends a couple times, then ppl will slowly acknowledge her and give her the credit that she want.
To me, she is being ridiculous to ask for similar treatment as other stars while never plan to defends couple more times in order to achieve that status, just like the way Bispring and Woodley are trying to do previously.
What do you guys think?
I thought Pettis already had that covered? The UFC should market her as the “the first gay champ”
Would sell
I don't even think she's asking for similar treatment. They just want a extra promotional push. When she fought Rousey there was little to know coverage of Nunes. She wasn't on some of the posters and she was the champ. It's the same thing with Mighty Mouse. There not asking for the Conor treatment. They just wan't a little bit extra regarding the attention they get.
People are too sensitive nowadays, back then Tito knew UFC wanted him to lose and he still didn't care that much, he made the most of it tbh, Nunes and Cyborg would be more marketable if they didn't complain that much, even as a Brazilian fan of WMMA i have to admit that they are too stupid to realize it..
Yeah UFC probably would prefer if they were blonde cute killers, but if they aren't, just deal with it and move on, if they keep winning they will make cash, complaining won't help, this attitude is toxic to their relationship with both WME and fans.
Conor didn't introduce that attitude. He simply made so much money that he could afford to force the UFC to play ball with him on this level. That's the natural evolution of fighters being able to make that kind of money. It was bound to happen. Dana White said it himself. "Its going to really suck dealing with fighters when the money gets that high"Well, you can blame Conor for introducing that kind of work attitude to the rest of the locker room, of course in the end it will still be WME-IMG fault for not putting a stop on it.
1 million isn't even that much though. Diaz is asking for 15 million to fight Tyron. MM can't even get 1 million to continue a historical win streak?MM will get what he want as TJ is coming for him....................but if he ask for 1M becuz of so call "Super fight", he is being ridiculous as it was TJ who throw himself into a hot pot instead of MM. MM will only get extra pay if he move on to BW, end of story.
For Nunes, she just need to defend few more times that WME will have no choice but to promote she as one of the greatest.
Just because Diaz is asking for that doesn't mean he will get it. He absolutely wont get anything near that.1 million isn't even that much though. Diaz is asking for 15 million to fight Tyron. MM can't even get 1 million to continue a historical win streak?
I don't think its that at all. If Nunes had something they could use, they would use it. It has nothing to do with her nationality. She has a point in that the UFC does more to push white girls, if someone like Paige Van Zant was at 135 and was the one to beat Ronda you'd never hear the end of it.
This women can't sell a ppv.. fucked over the UFC by pulling out of a title fight AFTER the weigh ins with sinus problems or shit... then she came back had a pretty boring "win" vs Valentina in which she scraped through due to the judges.. Oh and she actually Koed the UFC golden ticket in Ronda.. + she looks and speaks like a man..
No wonder UFC is not paying her top dollar..
Now look how they treat the likes of Bisping/Joannna they may not be able to do numbers like Conor or Ronda.. but they actually go out and try to promote.. that's why the UFC treats them well
