Now would you take Pettis over Conor?

Whether you think he'd win standing or not, Pettis as a slick sub-game

The Nate fight doesn't really impact how I think Pettis vs Conor would go. I think if Conor pressures and sticks with his boxing he can beat him as Pettis won't be able to get his kicks off with all that forward pressure. Conor has the reach advantage so its very very different than the fight with Nate.

Conor was hurt by nates bodybshot..
Pettis has nasty bodykicks, in which conor has never faced anyone whos powerkicked his body.

Chin or defense- im going with pettis he went 5 rounds with rda without doing the chicken dance once, conor was stunned by diaz, partially cause his defense isn't great.
Cardio-pettis
I think pettis wins, conors game is all revolved around that left hand, his right hand doesnt do much, and his kicks setup the left hand.
Conor just became extremely predictable

Wow thats a nice breakdown, I agree to that.

Pressure with threat of a takedown is very different than boxing pressure. Pettis isn't going to let Conor waltz through his kick boxing range.

Conor was hurt by Nates slap too

Pettis would brutalize McGregor and choke him out quicker than Nate did.

Good point. You could be right, I think this is a very close fight and I hope it happens sooner rather than later. Since Pettis is far from a title shot I think it's a real possibility he goes down to FW to speed up the process.

Conor - Pettis is a spoiler but I will still root (not sure how I'll bet yet) against him.

I think Conor would have have 7.5-10 mintues to knock Pettis out, or eventually be finished himself. Right now, I'd lean 60/40 Pettis.

I'd take Conor. I just think him and Pettis are kind of the same figher but Conor's just better.

Pettis without the threat of someone taking him down where he can just unleash his offense standing....I'll take Pettis every time.

Not sure. I always tought that a pressure fighter would have the best chance to beat Conor. Because Conor is a pressure fighter himself. He never let the other fighter rest. Using strikes, feints and just agressive footwork (if that term make sense) against the guys he fights. Now the Diaz brothers do the same thing. Only better and even more intensive. RDA is also a pressure meatgrinder. So he would have given Conor problem. But that fight was 50/50 for me.

Pettis on the other hand.. He is not a pressure fighter. He feel out the guy he fights. And need time and distanse to use his kicks. He boxing is solid.. But mostly used to set up his deadly kicks. I think Conor would have done better against Pettis then against Diaz..

Would he have won? not sure..

Pettis would get eaten alive by conor he wouldnt last 5 minutes he would of taken 1 of conors lefts and been out on the floor.
sounds familiar, and look how that turned out
