You could be right but Masvidal seems to be in an amazing place mentally right now and there is no way of knowing how a dominant defeat will affect him. This is win/win for Mas... He got the leverage of a desperate UFC and a big payday. PLUS coming in on a week's notice he will have a built in and fully realistic excuse when he is dominated by Usman for 5 rounds.
His stock only goes up no matter how badly Jorge gets beaten on Saturday.

They don't want fighters to think they can ask for more for a replacement fight because there's probably going to be a lot of them but there's no way he jumps on a plane at the last minute for the same money. They'll give him same base plus undisclosed so other people can't use it to negotiate short notice fights.that why all this im in the poor house stuff is fake news. he wouldnt been crying poor if conor ha manned up an fough him. now after he loses to usman he play the victim card saying the ufc forced him to fight. he already said he not making more money to fight
I know the exact interview op is referring to. Jorge just says he’s been staying in shape. Running a couple times a week, lifting weights, and training twice or three times a week sometimes. Definitely nothing close to a training camp.Staying "fit" and training for a fight are two completely different things.
