I bet you have not looked at next years prices for health care. I have and it’s way more expensive. I have been shopping around. I own a small business and the prices have skyrocketed. Seniors on fixed incomes are about to get sticker shock. Nothing says you are living in the greatest country on earth then either filing bankruptcy because of medical bills or just dying because you don’t want to burden your family with outrageous bills.
It’s going to be a problem in 2026. Maybe the GOP’s plan is to brag about Trumps gold plated ballroom while people can’t afford insurance. Seemed to work out well for the most recent election.
I am seeing a lot more TDS on social media. Trump Disillusioned Syndrome.

In fact I'm rather glad Zohran won in NYC and hope he implements his agenda as promised, so Americans can see the effects of socialism/communism upon a major metropolitan area within the USA itself, because apparently they didn't learn about Cuba, Venezuela.... or Detroit.

is it normal for a single candidate to stand for two differant parties on the same ballat, effectively giving them twice the exposure on the ballat which certainly highers their chances of winning? in NY ballet i looked at, there was three (maybe four) candiates, who stood for a mixture of six differant parties?

it all seems a little suspect / unfair tbh

It's weird as fuck. Definitely not the norm at all. It's almost always R vs D vs 3rd parties that get no support.

Cuomo lost in the primary then switched to being an independent to run in the general.

The state laws are going to vary and for a position like Mayor, the laws might even vary city to city, i dunno for sure. I'm sure some places allow a candidate to switch to an independent for the general after losing the primary and some don't in any event.

I don't really have a problem with it overall. In most places primary elections are "closed." That means you can only vote in your registered party's election. Dems elect a dem to face a Republican and Republicans elect a Republican to face a dem. I don't really see it as beating the same person twice. In the general, you have both parties added to the mix. I think it's fair game because the voter pool has the other party added to it.

In other words, you may have a candidate that appeals more to one party, but also have a candidate who appeals a little less to their main party, but also appeals way more to the opposing party.

No need to get personal, buddy. Are you going to list everyone that ever committed a sex crime for me to worry about? Because that’s a big list that includes a lot of different kinds of people. Hell, we elected a sexual abuser who brags about peeping on women in dressing rooms and is a friend of Epstein for president.

I’m tasked with teaching my kids to be safe in all kinds of scenarios, and to be aware of their surroundings. That includes being careful around everyone from horny teenagers who get drunk and date rape to weirdo dudes who look like women and go into girl’s bathrooms.

This country is proliferated with guns, there’s school shootings every year, drugs, children are abducted and trafficked for sex.
I’ve never even met a trans person that I know of (although I suspect a waiter we once had was). Their existence isn’t anywhere near the top of the list of concerns that keep me up at night.
