Elections Nov. 4 Election Results

News flash. NY and Cali have had Democrat super majorities in their political classes for over three decades.
And after these elections they still will.

So what's your point?

NYC and cali are some of the biggest economies in the world by themselves with decades of democrats running them. Maybe you conservatives should finally pay attention and learn a thing or three from them.

Some how these democrat run places have had world class economies while places with Republican rule for decades are the biggest welfare states. Time for yall to get your shit together and learn from the successful people.

The GOP did really awful last night from what I'm reading on conservative news sights. They lost across the board, not only in blue states but a few reliably red states also. The conservative web sights are blaming a lack of price reductions in food, cars, gasoline not being down enough, etc.

If this is true then I have a sneaky feeling that Trump's tariffs loomed large in voters minds. I personally don't believe the tariffs are causing higher prices from the information I've been reading but perception is reality. The blue media often says tariffs are a tax on Americans. They raise prices on good bought they say.

So voters didn't like how Democrats caused high inflation while Biden was in office. They kicked the Democrats out of power over that,. While inflation has improved under Trump, prices for food and other items still remain high and they are not happy about it. That is the guess on a main voting motivation for many of the races. A lousy economy is not a positive. That apparently is what voters want, lower prices. Giving them what they don't want, well that only makes them upset.

Anecdotally but I was going to order some new pads for the gym and was given a heads up about a tariff charge to get them into the states along with but seperate from shipping costs.

California tied with Louisiana for highest U.S. poverty rate, new report says

That economy you referenced in California only benefits a fraction of people there.

The middle class is dwindling and the rest live below the poverty line

That's not the flex you think it is when the list of top highest poverty rates is still dominated by republican states (Alabama, west Virginia, Mississippi, Florida, Kentucky, Arkansas).

There were races that are flying under the radar because they weren't for high profile positions. Two Democrats won state wide elections in GA for seats on the Public Service Commission. A Democrat hasn't served on the commission since 2007. And the races were not particularly close with both candidates getting 62% of the vote.

Trump carried GA 2 out of 3 times. It's not even really a purple state. And only has two Democratic Senators because of backlash from Trump first term. A state wide election on an off year is supposed to be a slam dunk for Republicans in Georgia and they lost bad.

Trump has made the same mistake Biden made pretending inflation does not exist. Prices of everything is too damn high. Trump is treating inflation like it’s The Epstein files. Mid terms are going to be a bloodbath even with all the gerrymandering bullshit.
MTG was surprisingly smart. She got off a sinking ship.
So when trump said prices on everything are lower he wasn’t being truthful?

Unless the National Mood changes significantly, the Dems will take the Senate and House next November. The guy not on the ballot who probably had the best night is Senator Osoff in GA. Last Nov his seat was considered a sure pickup next year for the Republicans.

Prop 50 is painful. I voted no because it shows we are on a race to the bottom and becoming too accepting of corruption. OTOH I would never want to associate with the No on 50 crowd because they are absolute hypocrites. It sucks this is where we are at now.

The constant hard swinging pendulum of the Extreme Reaction Social Media Politics Era is gonna be one wild ride, no doubt about it, wonder if any of us will survive...

House is extremely likely given the current environment + previous mid term history. Senate is very low percentage of flipping. They'd have to defend every single blue state (2 or 3 of which won't have an incumbent) and flip 4 red states.

It's idiots fighting that is why it is hard swinging, not because social media.

You have to embrace a personality cult or campus politics. No wonder it swings back and forth a lot if it chases away talent. Who wants to humiliate him or herself like that?
