Jimmy Dore: Russiagate Fizzles Out As Mueller Ends Investigation

to all the people in here taking a victory lap:

enjoy it while it lasts ;)

  • Manafort, Trump's campaign manager and transition committee member has been indicted arising from misconduct reaching into 2017 related to payments received through 2014 from the pro-russia faction of Ukraine's pre-war government. Manafort pleaded guilty, agreed to cooperate with federal prosecutors, and then lied to them.
  • Roger Stone has been charged with Obstruction, Lying to Investigators, and Witness Tampering. This is in connection with an investigation into his contacts with WikiLeaks and the dissemination of info from the DNC and Clinton hacks. He is now subject to a gag order.
  • Michael Cohen, Trump's attorney, has pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations, which he claims to have committed at Trump's direction to influence the election. Cohen cooperated with federal prosecutors and received a 3-year sentence.
  • Allen Weisselberg, the Trump Org. CFO, has agreed to immunity in exchange for cooperating with federal prosecutors
  • Rick Gates has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI and conspiring (with Manafort) to commiting tax fraud, failing to register as a foreign agent, and lying to the FBI
  • George Papadopolous pleaded guilty to lying to federal investigators in 2017 about activities occuring 2016-17. Admits to meeting with various Russian officials regarding setting up meetings and "dirt" on Hillary while acting on behalf of the Trump campaign, something he previously denied. Papadopoulos is now accusing Mifsud of being a deep state plant on Twitter.
  • Mike Flynn, Trump's National Security Advisor, has also pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about several meetings that he had with the Russian ambassador. Flynn was allegedly involved in other business involving Turkey, but has not yet been charged with respect to that behavior.
  • 13 Russian indictment for activity starting in 2014 and continuing through 2017. A US citizen pleaded guilty for agreeing to help them. There is also a separate 12 count indictment targeting GRU officers
  • An attorney linked to Manafort, Gates, and a Russian oligarch has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI
  • Yohai, Manafort's former son-in-law has agreed to cooperate with the Justice Department
  • Daniels's lawsuit has somehow, insanely, gotten linked up to the Mueller investigation thanks to alleged wrongdoing and influence-peddling by Michael Cohen. Who has pleaded guilty and offered to fully cooperate.
  • Twelve Russian intelligence officers have been indicted for conspiracy against the United States and aggravated identity theft
  • Bruce Ohr, of dossier fame, has been working to obtain information from Russian oligarchs since 2014.
  • Documents relating to Manafort's guilty plea implicate Tony Podesta. Tony Podesta is the brother of Clinton's campaign advisor, John Podesta. His former firm, which is now cooperating with the probe, worked for Manafort in Ukraine.

When someone is hunting for elephant, the hunt isn't considered a success if the hunter was only able to get two dozen squirrels.

The left are now trying to pass off their metaphorical two dozen squirrels as a successful elephant hunt.

As I said two years ago, this entire investigation will eventually go down as an irrelevant piece of history. Little more than a tidbit of trivia for board games and internet quizzes. Looks like I'll ultimately be vindicated.

P.S. That's President Trump to you.

The first line in the op shat on the chest of everyone pretending to celebrate...whatever they are celebrating.

One thing I heard that caught my attention was the game Trump has to play regarding executive priveledge invocation. Of course if certain things are in there that are catastrophically negative, he will have no choice, but it seems impossible to keep this thing under wraps with house rabidly the house will go after it.

looks like tomorrow the "leads" will come out in vagaries (guaranteed it will be very vague as Barr was hired for a reason), but Barr will know well what he can and can't keep from eventually coming out.

Still wondering exactly why Trump for the first time in the history of Trump has shut up completely on twitter. None of the reasons I've heard for that make any sense nor do they have any precedent.

When people start putting sentences together in almost random word salads, that's a sign that person is suffering from cognitive dissonance at that very moment. If the person speaking appears to be putting together grammatically correct sentences, yet is unable to convey a clear thought with those sentences, that indicates that a major portion of their worldview has been challenged yet they're unable to answer the challenge.

Absolutely. This is it! This is the thread that is going to conclude the Mueller thread series.

Reading over some of the past threads has been thoroughly entertaining.

With each new thread the leftists become less and less confident in the outcome. The absolute funniest ones were the ones filled with leftists convinced that the President was going to be removed from office within the week.

The sour grapes over a lost election was still quite fresh in the minds of most of those posters. It was like reading the thread of fans of a football team that had just lost, and the fans of that team we're still trying to do everything they could to push their team over the top.

ironically, and outside the point you are making about people whining, why does this guy seem to embody everything intrinsic about your average MAGA hardcore American?

Further, and again, you personally and Republicans in general are celebrating just as you did when the midterm results first came in. And than the actual midterm results came in. And here we are with the house being what it is.

You've literally not seen the report and you don't even have a cursory general summary of it, yet you're saying people are grasping at straws for actually wanting to see what it says.

Do you want to see what it says? Forget responding to the above, when this question is avoided, we'll just move on. You sound a lot like you don't care what it says.
