Not Just a Cohencidence (Mueller/Investigation Thread v.20)

What's the TL/DR read on this for someone who doesn't follow this? Is anything actually going to happen to Trump? Is an impeachment possible?

The biggest risk to Trump is that his "personal fixer" Michael Cohen will testify to serious criminal wrongdoing on Trump's behalf. So far, all we know is that Cohen says Trump directed him to pay hush money to the porn actress Stormy Daniels. That might or might not be a crime, and is very unlikely to lead to impeachment.

I'd like to know where their line is between major and minor crimes.

I'm gonna guess...

Minor: Drowning a Mexican in the Rio Grande. Locking a Syrian child in solitary confinement for 15 years. Getting cucked by Vladimir Putin.

Major: Taking down a confederate monument. Making Spanish an official language of the U.S. Praising Colin Kapernick.
Minor: Conspiring with a foreign entity against your government

Major: Owning a pizza shop

If nothing is likely going to happen to Trump because of this, then what does it matter? He still won in the end and still maintains his presidency. Though I don't know shit about politics/this situation so my thought process could be wrong.

It matters to the people in this thread who are praying for Trump's demise for any reason at all. To most Americans, it won't matter until serious wrongdoing is uncovered.

His plea deal isn't a cooperation deal. That suggests they don't need him to cooperate because there is enough in his evidence hoard from the raid, they just don't want to reveal anything extra at trial.

He could stops very well cooperate though. He has credibility issues though. So I'd say the biggest risk to Trump is that they've got him on paper and don't even need Cohen.

Nothing will happen. Cohen pled guilty to 2 non crimes and it won't go anywhere. Obama had 1300 actual violations and he got a fine. One of the biggest fines ever albeit still just a fine.

This is the game of politics, discredit discredit discredit, twist, spin (which is politics talk for making the facts fit your narrative).

Want to know how big this is?

Obama was found guilty of it, and you likely never even heard.

Clinton grew stronger after he was impeached for minor crimes. His poll numbers improved.

Because the optics of Newt Gingrich, a man who cheated on and left his wife dying of cancer in the hospital, attacking Clinton for getting a BJ, was pretty awful.

And Fox News wasn't running at full steam yet, to tell them otherwise.

The funny part is Trump spent like 25 minutes with GP, and I’m not sure he ever even met gates.

CNN plays it up like they’re besties...

Close enough for Trump to call out by name as a great guy and one of his top advisors.
