I have not caught up on this thread so i do not know what opinions are being discussed but if you are in a microscopic minority of opinion on ANY topic that has significant meaning.

It does not mean you are wrong, especially on something like art where taste is only subjective but what it does mean is that your view is simply not one the masses or any one should put much value on/

Most people do care what the masses think which is proven via the popularity of the art (movie, painting, other).

And again i am not saying it wrong to be outlier. If you want to believe the Melania's Eyes NFT is the most valuable piece of art on the planet and over pay for it, that is your right, and you are not wrong. It is just no one else cares that you think that and over paid for it. It will still be worth nothing.

You cannot really turn it around as you do not understand what you are saying.

You turning it around and saying 'it is just your opinion bro... Melania's eyes are the best art the world has ever produced', simply has no meaning, beyond you.

There is value in popular opinion no matter how much you would deny it.

If a person generally wants to find a movie to watch they will find enjoyable in a certain genre and one movie is setting records in the box office with top level reviews, and the other is bombing with all horrid reviews and Fox by Sea is the sole person giving it top level reviews the value to the typical viewer, to help them find a movie they would enjoy is betting with the overwhelming consensus.

That it is not 100% and there is a miniscule chance the person might be an outlier with you does not reduce the value of going with the majority.

A majority says 'this vacation spot is top notch and the people are great, i recommend going', is very good guidance to bet your dollars on when booking.

A majority who says 'this vacation is a sh!thole and scam and the people suck, do not go', is very good guidance to bet your dollars on and not to book.

That Fox by the Sea would say 'no opinions have value and i think the second vacation is best, go spend your money there', may be his legit feeling, or it may be an indication he is a paid shill. Regardless smart money would not go there just based on his outlier opinion.

Which is fine. As i said, you have a right to an outlier opinion.

I just demonstrated to you why an extreme outlier opinion has very little worth generally compared to a more consensus opinion.

I get you think yourself amongst the 'cool kids' who just wants to be contrarian for contrarian sake but what you cannot do is make an argument that holds up. YOu can only proclaim 'Melania's Eyes is the best art in the world' while then trying to assert outlier opinions matter just as much, but you lose, as you did above when you try and defend that position.

If this was 20 years ago I'd probably give it a 5 but cinema has taken a nose dive since then.
