Wanna know what the reason for this is?
The more monotonous and less filled with new/unusual experiences our lifes become, the less new/catchy memories we make, so after a phase like this, there's not many memories in our mind, which ultimately leads to us feeling like time has gone by unusually fast in retrospect.
For the same reason, time seems to go by faster and faster in retrospect the more we age, as in our childhood, we do many things for the first time(s) and have lots of important and life changing experiences, whereas in the later stages of our lifes, everything is very structured with not so much new things occupying the spaces of our life.
Quite interesting imo and also kinda soothing to get to know that time doesn't actually go by faster, huh?
