Hes got a well rounded submission game and could potentially catch him while theyre in a scramble. I never said it was likely.. but he has shown much better subs than Khabibs last few opponents where he just crushes them on the ground. I dont think he would do that to Eddie

RDA has a much better sub game and never got the chance. I honestly cannot see Eddie doing it to Khabib. He hasn't really had any luck with subs in the UFC. His last submission win was over 7 years ago.

Even in his grappling career Khabib never got subbed. It's possible but I don't see it happening.

Its a fight really were both will probably look to test each others potential weaknesses, Khabib will probably see Tony as too easy to take down without really being truly elite off of his back, Tony will probably see the potential to test Khabib's cardio with his toughness and then potentially his standup latter in the fight.

The worst matchups for Khabib actually seem like guys from the past at LW, BJ with his takedown defence and counter boxing, Gomi with his takedown defence and cruishuing power and Aoki with his extreme threat from his back. I spose the latter two are still around but it clearly declined forms.

Gave the OP a like because there was some good points I think at this point Khabib beats him standing and the ground with the momentum that he has.

Eddie made his career out of beating all rounders and grapplers on the feet in barn burners brawls, the list of fighters who have dropped him is vast.

I think a true striker pistol whips him at any point.

On his best day, Eddie is a nightmare for anyone. I even think Eddie’s best day can best most fighter’s best days. But I don’t like his chances against Khabib. Eddie is a solid grappler, but Khabib has proven to be a great MMA grappler at least. Khabib’s striking is good enough to hang so he can transition to grappling. I give Tony Ferguson a better chance by submission off of his back.

Nate has the cardio to deal with the pressure, the hands to touch him and the submission skills to be a danger from the ground. Not saying that he would take him, but I would like to see the fight.
