People always question the talent depth of divisions like Flyweight, Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight, that's why GSP and Aldo are the undisputed no. 1 and no. 2 GOATS, they dominated stacked divisions.

I question the talent at welterweight.

First time for everything.

Why are you ignoring LW?

The 2 best divisions in MMA are easily LW and FW.

(Even 135 is heating up now)

There are simply billions more average sized men in the world so the talent pools at FW and LW are always going to be the largest and get the most elite of elite talents (because of those large talent pools)

This is the reason why 125 and LHW/HW are the absolute worst and most shallow divisions in MMA.

1. There arent that many men who are THAT SMALL (125)

2. And there aren't that many men who get that big (LHW/HW)

And an even tinier percentage of men that big even become cordinated or exceptionally skilled etc

Anyway, you are trying to use this thread to prove that Aldo is a GOAT

Well, what about Conor who beat both Aldo AND Holloway, AND who won the LW belt (the other best division in MMA)

This thread only proves how much of a real under rated GOAT Conor is

FW and LW are the 2 best divisions in MMA history and Conor is champ of both

Everyone "claims" Aldo and Holloway are the #1 and #2 FW GOATS...yet Conor who beat them both (the only one to do so) gets ignored. It's criminally sickening how under rated and under appreciated Conor is. Your thread only proves how Conor is A GOAT.

Btw, as for WW, WW is really hard to judge or pin point.

WW isn't as deep as I once thought. Thats why LWs are able to go up to WW and clean house

LW is vastly superior

But someone like Gsp was exceptional and is the TRUE GOAT

Gsp and Conor are the only true GOATS in my mind

And Conor is the undisputed GOAT of modern drug tested MMA. Conor is the only GOAT candidate who's best wins happened under USADA testing

Aldo is definitely not #2... He got mounted by Mark Hominick and KO'd 3 times by the time he was 31.

He's been fighting in title fights alone since he was 23, he turned pro at 17, he is far older in fight years than most 31 years olds.

Age is irrelevant when it comes to a fighter being in his prime, TJ Dillashaw is older than Aldo but Aldo was fighting in title fights before Dillashaw even had his first fight.

GSP's era at WW was a joke, filled with LWs. Thiago Alves, Hardy, Serra, Penn, and Sherk. Rest my case.

No one apart from Anderoid nuthuggers

Do you know what forum you're on?

Vast majority will put the likes of GSP, Silva, Jones and Fedor above Aldo. Some will even include DJ above him. Yes he is a legend and an all time great but definitely not #2.

WW is so so at the moment.
Had they had Gsp and Rory it would be safe to say it is rather stacked.
But looking very briefly at top 10 now :
Covington - can
Maia - old and onedimensional
Robbie, Condit , Cerrone - old
Masvidal, Magny - gatekeepers
RDA, is top talent but he is undersized in this division.
Thompson and Woodly are good, but we saw them fight already.

bright hope for ww is Till + return of GSP and Rory.

Welterweight is the most overrated weight class because of the nuthuggers.

They knew Silva is the GOAT. So, to discredit Silva and elevate their guy, they resorted to the most shameful act of fighter bashing we've ever seen: the diminishing of an entire weight class.

Shame.

Jose Aldo has the best resume in MMA history.

P4P all time great Frankie Edgar 2X, Juiced Mendes 2X, etc.

WW was a weak division during GSP’s reign filled with one dimensional fighters and LWs.

Thiago Alves is a LW? lmao, stop posting you casual noob.

Prime Thiago was probably the biggest WW amongst his peers

He lost to kampmann and did nothing after his title shot
GSP always fought boring and always fought guys on the downswing.

There's no reason to question it

These divisions are closer to the average man height/weight, it's only natural the most talented guys are going to show up there, especially Lightweight and Welterweight, these are the two division who have the most fighters in the roster.

Competition level is almost always defined by the number of people competing. There are around 20 heavyweights and 20 flyweights. Meanwhile there are 100+ lightweights and 100+ welterweights last time I checked

Aldo is the youngest world champion in MMA history at 23 years, 2 months old.

9 title defenses, 18 fight win streak, 10 years undefeated in a stacked division.
