Media Nick post fight

Age and damage aside, the weed did not help them. I don’t think it’s a popular opinion because many of us use it and don’t want to face the reality that’s it’s not “harmless” particularly at the high amounts that they appear to use it
Me and a close friend stopped smoking weed at the start of the year. Both of us were every day users since 16 - 18. We are now 31 and 32. Both of us have had long form discussions about marijuana and how it was affecting us since stopping use. I think the worst thing about marijuana, is its insidious. Alot of the problems its causing are so subtle and slow growing, you put it down to like personality faults lol. I literally thought I was an anti social piece of shit with a temper problem. Turns out I just had a drug problem that crept up on me without realising. Never been happier since quitting. 3 Months after stopping weed, i kicked ciggies too.

Yeah weed can for sure be problematic.

Honestly? I disagree.

Nate won, so I assume you are referring to Tony - who at least pretended to care.

In the interviews leading up to the Lawler fight, Nick literally was talking about how he had no idea why he was fighting and just wanted a paycheck. It was pathetic
Nick looked more like a fighter against Lawler than Nate did vs Tony. Nate quit multiple times and the ref pretended to ignore it. It was really weird and pathetic fight.

Good on ya!

That was embarrassing. Can we not do this shit anymore with old and retired MMA fighters boxing?

what do you mean Nick said he’s still in his 20’s lmao. Dude was high on molly or something.

Nick was smoking weed and crushing triathlons. His problems arose when he began drinking heavily in his 30s. He looked like a barrel in his last fight

GSP shot it down

He said that Nick isnt in shape to grapple him. He's grappling Maia instead.
And honestly that's a much better match up. Especially because Maia should win by all rights.

GSP always like a challenge, that's for sure.

But Nick needs an intervention. Seriously. He's completely out of his mind and it would be a lot better for him to get help now before consequences start to take hold

Nick is better than nate tho. Aside from not having motivation he has more tools than nate and the biggest one was some power.
Nick is a shell of himself while Nate has at least been an active fighter. He’s an addict that is afraid to take any real damage and that is the end of a high level fighters’ career. Nick is one of my all time favorites but his day is long gone.
Sadly, you’re proof that a Sherdog “BlackBelt” is like a free toy you get with your Happy Meal.

Kudos to you for recognizing the subtle danger that comes with weed. Many of us are in denial because it’s not like crack or heroine where the signs are easy to see.

When they used to back it up in the cage this was acceptable. Now it is sad.

Many elite athletes smoke a lot of weed. That’s no secret. The weed is getting way too much blame here. There are many factors at play here with the Diaz brothers that made them how they are.

Lovable but frustratingly stubborn and at times delusional. I mean Nate Diaz has deluded himself into thinking leg kicks aren’t damaging. He refuses to check kicks all while getting his lead leg chewed up in every fight he’s in now.
It’s NOT JUST weed that caused the issues. I’m saying Diaz bros skills die from the thousands cuts caused by weed.
At the very least, the weed is not a net positive on their cardio, mental or physical health.

I think consequences have already started to take hold, and its only worse from here.

He did show a capacity to improve, and was able to get himself in better shape for a time, but lapsed again. So I suppose there is hope...

Nick was exhausted after this exchange:

All the health concern talk aside, I've always loved his right hook punch that he throws, keeps the right fist in his opponent's face to blind them and follows it up with that straight left that he does here. I miss those. I also love his right jab that follows with a hard left body shot.

Ariel is incredible at acting like whoever is clearly incoherent on drugs and act like they are being clear communicators, what a skill. First with Conor, now with Nick. It's like he does enough to make them think they are well spoken. Pretty sad to see Nick so far gone, wish he stuck with MMA because he probably could've put on so many better fights the years he spent sitting out.

imagine being 40 yo and still doing gangstah arm movements

how many more fights on his ufc contract? he may not be able to fulfill his end of the contract.

Strikeforce Nick was a better fighter than any version of Nate has ever been.
Sorry but the fact is the fact. Nick has looked like shit for an extremely long time. People love to laud a fighters prime and ignore the many years of poor performance. I wont say your statement is wrong HOWEVER Nate has never looked as bad as long as Nick has and wont ever. So factoring both of these things in and the fact Nick is still sketchily clamoring for a fight Nate>Nick. Also the fact Nate did nothing but praise Nick every fight and Nick doesn’t give a fuck about Nate’s fight and wasted 5 minutes giving the worst fight callout in the history of sports NATE>NICK at this point
