Nick Diaz will be the only person to have fought GSP AND Anderson Silva.

I despise Nick Diaz, but you can't take away from him that he seeks out very tough fights. BJ Penn syndrome.

Did 99Silva get banned in October?

I'm just saying, he is still with us.

Nick takes tough fights (whether he deserves the big fights or not), there's no denying that. But his wins don't scream all time great status. His best wins are probably Robbie, Marius, Penn, and Daley.

Randleman fought Bas, Couture, Liddell, Rampage, Cro Cop, Fedor, and Shogun. He's a top 5 too.

yeah that's a dude who should have had a better career. too bad he spent so much time as a blown up HW fighter.

Don't forget he fought prime Gomi also.

He may not be the best fighter of all time, but he certainly is one of the most compelling fighters with one of the most interesting careers of all time.

Agree gogo'd pride gomi...he goes in to fight not win on points and that sometimes get him losses (condit, gsp) would be weird if he point fought on top of that I think Andy hits hard but daley imo hits pretty hard and caught nick with a couple shots but couldn't finish Anderson being more of a finisher although diaz ain't necessary gotta worry about power

why do people bring up his last 2 losses like they are that bad, out of his last 13 fights he lost 2.. 1 was a close decision and the other he lost to GSP who did what he could to make sure he didnt have to stand with Diaz

Nicks a good fighter and fights good people, but if hes top 5 at anything its wanting that anderson silva money, which he will get... when he fights anderson silva

diaz might have a chance against silva

I'd rather be Chris Weidman who beat one of them and didn't lose to the other.

^this. He's in the same boat as guys like Sakuraba. Took big fights, was an underdog and sometimes won big, but lacks that icing on the cake.

He lost UFC title fights to GSP (fine, not surprising but just saying) and Condit. His win over Pride champion Gomi was overturned. He lost an EliteXC LW title fight to KJ Noons.

He's fun to watch and highly skilled but just not a top fighter in terms of accolades. Nothing wrong with that.

nick diaz will fight anyone. a lot of guys wouldn't. that's why he gets the respect that he does. and deservedly so.

You call crawling away from the ground fight and refusing to engage on the feet fighting?

Come on kid.

And he's doing it back to back.

Does anyone else think that's kind of crazy?

He also fought BJ Penn. If this doesn't put him in the top 5 of all time IDK what does.

You don't get to be top five just for fighting top guys, you have to win a few too.

I do think it's crazy that he's gotten the opportunity to get these fights despite others being far more worthy.

Top 5 what? You need to win some of those fights.

He did beat BJ... but it wasn't nearly Penn at his best, nor was it at Penn's best weight class, and Nick's style was always something that was going to give BJ some trouble.

In fact, Nick's just one of those guys who is going to be a stylistic nightmare for some very high level fighters, and who is going to have holes in his game that make him very beatable for other solid fighters.

If he beats Anderson, it's going to do a lot for his legacy, though. Regardless of where/when/how, he'll be able to say he not only beat Silva, but also outclassed Penn, and KO'd both Lawler, and Frank Shamrock.

Throw Gomi in there (which you should) and he's done some pretty impressive stuff.

Still not the same as being well rounded enough, like GSP and Fedor, or spectacular enough, like Anderson, or a bit of both, like Jon Jones, to beat all comers regardless of what they bring to the cage.

Nick Diaz will fight anyone apart from Hieron, Mayhem and Woodley.

Babalu has fought Hendo, Chuck(twice), and Fedor. Babalu is basically the GOAT.
