Ngannou's Power vs Shane Carwin's Power

Shane didn't need much of a swing. I mean, neither does Francis but he does it any way. In terms of those short shots of power, the proven one is Shane.
 
I will never forget Dan staring at Carwin just adding more killing shots to Frank.

If he had trained stand up more he could have been up there. He sent Herring flying with a punch, and he turned Mir's face into hamburger meat with punches from laying down side mount. I would gather he hits really fucking hard. He just never worked on developing his striking. Was pretty scary how Mir's face looked after that GNP, it wasn't even power shots raining down from full mount. It was a position where it didn't look like one should be able to generate much power.

This. Both guys hit really f***ing hard, but Shane was something else. I think he KOed one guy with a punch that was blocked. Francis can move a lot better than Carwin could, so I agree Predator would take him in a prime vs prime match-up.

Ngannou has finished proven durable guys like Stipe and Rozenstruik.

Carwin's big KO win was over Mir.

Carwin because he had the touch of death. Both guys hit extremely hard, but you can tell Francis is trying to hit like that. Carwin wouldn’t even wind up, just tap tap you’re dead. Lol

What, because he has a few KO's with short right hands? Like Ngannou couldn't KO those guys with the same punch... wtf are you even watching?
Look at the clear difference in their fights and the effect their punches have, not to mention Ngannou's short right on Cain & both knockdowns against Stipe
 
I’d say Carwin just in terms of raw power. Francis has better technique and placement but the short punches of Carwin were pretty crazy. Plus Carwin was in the prime roid years of the UFC haga
 
I'd say Ngannou is the more powerful striker because he could put you away with either hand and from all angles (hooks, uppercuts, short shots, wide looping shots, etc.). But does it really matter? Both guys had/have the kind of power that knocked opponents into the shadow realm. Picking one or the other is a useless exercise in splitting hairs.

Ngannou is basically the "Healthy, more athletic and a tad more powerful" version of Carwin. I pick him.

But Carwin was a freaking monster himself and would probably be able to replicate the career of Black Beast or even better, have he been healthy
