Agreed. Heck, in the Stipe fight, Stipe seemed closer to being KO'd, tho he controlled 99% of the fight, and it happened when Ngannou was totally gassed and was getting lit up. He just has crazy scary power. UFC absolutely needs to sign Minakov now tho. This win just legitimizes Minakov and means he may be the best HW in the world, tho many do not even know him.

Agreed, Minakov has been the best HW in MMA for a long time, many years. Most People only know UFC though and the UFC fail hype train lol. Minakov beats anyone in UFC entire roster in my opinion.. only few guys can give him a hard fight which is Stipe and Jones.

What a joke. So he beat a guy who beat 40-year old Werdum after struggling 4 rounds and being behind? Until Minakov gets in the cage with Stipe or even a Cain, Blaydes or Ngannou, there's no basis on calling him Top 3, much less the best. He couldn't even finish Kongo, something Mir, Nelson and Hunt did easily.

totally agree. he also barely beat Tim Johnson and got totally wrestlefucked by Cheick Kongo.

does it legitimize Chieck Kongo and Tony Johnson as top HWs too? Minakov beat him in 2013, Kongo and Tony just beat him in 2015.

Volkov fought smart tonight...his striking was tentative but for obvious reasons....not sure if he beats Francis but he definitely has the ability to...if Francis ever fights again.

he fights extremely safe from an offensive standpoint but i doubt he'll have the head movement and the distance control to stop Ngannou from hitting him for 2 whole entire rounds.

10 minutes is a long time to be in there with a guy like Ngannou, especially if he's going to stand with Ngannou.

Francis came right at Stipe and Stipe posed a much bigger takedown threat than Vokov does, how is he going to deal with Ngannou swarming him for at least a good 2-3 minutes? Francis won't be tempered by a few jabs, he's going to have to hit Ngannou harder than anyone has ever hit him, and he's going to have to do it before Ngannou hits him harder than he's ever been hit before.

Stipe got hit by Ngannou even with all his takedowns and great head movement, i don't see how Volkov can survive 2 rds without having his chin tested a lot.

Ngannou was gassed by the second round, if Ngannou had cardio, ( which i'm sure he is working on after this fight ) that fight would have been a different story.
