Rumored Ngannou set to make over $8 million for Fury fight

You think the UFC offered him 8 million for one fight. Damn you are stupid

UFC offered Ngannou around $8 million to fight Jon Jones in what would have been the biggest bout of the 2023 calendar year.

On Tuesday, Ngannou appeared on Ariel Helani’s MMA Hour show and said that he was offered around $8 million, which is what Brock Lesnar made at UFC 200.

I thought it was 8 million for the entire contract. Not a single fight. He’s way better off being able ti box freely for 8 mil and still continue fighting mma.

francis showed the ufc that individual stars are what makes the UFC what it is, not the other way around.
Since when is Francis a star?
Tyson Fury is the star. Francis is his chew toy.

Not too shabby. Take that payday then spark out a couple of scrubs in PFL and sail into the sunset. Dana will have Ngannou related insomnia for years, it's perfect.
Insomnia about a fighter that doesn't fight. Doubt it.

Billion eyes?
You think the general public will care about this?

Francis isn't conor and Fury certainly isn't Floyd
Plus at least Floyd v conor was a fully sanctioned contest that went on their pro boxing record

Despite the skill gap, their fight was real, while this is just a quick cash grab exhibition
Plus Conor and Mayweather AND the UFC sold the fight with a promotional tour.
What's Francis going to do?

There's been nothing credible reported. His agent said way more than the Jones fight. That's why they are running with the 8 mill. I
Fantastic pay day for Francis there although no better than he would have gotten for fighting Jones (he was offered $8 million, that's not up for dispute). Could be huge for his longer term career though if he puts in a credible performance or somehow manages to overcome the odds and win. As much as I love Jones, he would not have as much to gain in terms of future drawing power even if he beat Jones.
And he wasted 3yrs of his prime begging for this in the meantime

What's Francis going to do?

Exactly, no matter what we think now, that fight was Heavily anticipated by many and HEAVILY promoted. Only Mayweather and Pacquiao is bigger and no other fight is close regarding numbers and revenue

This is a WAY bigger farce that nobody cares about

Not sure about you guys but I was expecting a fair bit more than $8 million.

It’s still substantially more than what UFC was paying him, so screw you Dana.

Its more than that, Bisping I think was saying Ngannou is getting 30 mill on his podcast. For a crossover heavyweight fight like this I can see that. Keep in mind this fight is being backed by Royal fam so its well funded. This is all rumors tho, so hard to know for sure

That's not usually how the Saudis do it. They usually just pay flat fees. Is it even confirmed to be on PPV? What major network is going to show an exhibition on PPV?

The cope from Frank fans is hilarious. He is getting what Dana offered him with far less upside. If he had landed a bomb on Jon's jaw, he would've been one of the biggest stars in the world. He would've been writing his own cheques for the rest of his UFC career. His sponsorships and endorsements would've been in the millions per year. Now, he gets to lose to Fury in an underwhelming exhibition boxing match then go to.. the PFL. Just lol.

$8m is still a nice chunk of change but it's not the $30m that he/his fans were expecting.
Showtime did Floyd vs Logan Paul.

Sherbros talking like they are Ngannou’s accountant or manager lol.

Disclosed pay. Question is if he gets back end ppv.

Kinda hilarious so its like a 90/10 split in favor of Fury...meanwhile Francis would have made 8 mil per fight in the last ufc offer.

If this is true.

You have no idea how much UFC paid him

And lets say... somehow... he has an impressive showing against Fury... the rematch $$$ would be insane. 50/50.

And the title isn't on the line, but in the rematch it would be.

Depending on how smart Francis is, I think there is a strategy to be played.

A) Play along with "ehibition" idea for a round or 2.

B) fucking cold cock Fury once he is relaxed into the "Hey mate just a little spar" pace/intensity.

C) whoopsie.

D) "So rematch for the belt then?"
