I don’t see a rematch going any different, but if Stipe loses or retires after beating Ngannou, that’s the pathway. If Overeem wins his next fight he’ll get a title shot, especially if Ngannou is champ. Blaydes has already lost twice To Francis and clearly disliked by UFC brass.

Very well might. I’m 50/50 on that. Not super impressed with Volkov but he has more than enough to knock out Overeem.

If Overeem implements another grappling heavy gameplan like last fight we could see him beat Volkov.

Every time i think "alright after this one he's done at the top level" Reem comes back and gets closer and closer to a titleshot lol. Crazy. Had he not been KOed in the last 3 secs of the jairzinho fight we could probably see Reem vs Ngannou 2 for the #1 contender spot.

He panicked. His game plan was to clinch and wear Ngannou down and then Ngannou easily shrugged him off the cage and he lost confidence quickly.

nowadays, fighters have a couple of tough fights, and people are amazed at the lack of CTE....years ago, boxers used to have over 200 fights...Jake Lamotta, was in wars...fought sugar ray robinson like 5x and took an ungodly amount of punishment...yet, lived into his 90s and was always well spoken and no signs ever of any cte...many fighters years ago had fights like that. we're talking hundreds of wars, going 15 rounds...nowadays, fighters have 40 or 50 fights and people that thinks that's alot...hahahaaha

Call me crazy but I think Reem would win a rematch, especially if he fought smart....use his kickboxing skils and don't brawl....mix in at least the threat of a takedown and work some of his BJJ.

Edit: OK, it appears his BJJ and ground game are completely gone at this point. Hasn't had a submission in 11 years!!! dang! He's like Fedor where he completely gave up an entire facet of his game.
