Media Ngannou on JRE (UPDATED, with dirty cliffs)

I feel like Francis is going to fuck up all his leverage with the Fury fight, he will have out of mma for almost 2 to 3 years by time he fights again, but I'd love nothing more than be wrong about the entire Francis situation and to see the guy flourish, but Jesus there are several fights in ufc hw I wanna see him in.

UFC would have to be stupid to give Ngannou a chance to KO their p4p #1 GOAT and not lock down Ngannou afterwards. Imagine if they gave him a 1 fight deal, won and scurried off to PFL. I don't think the PPV #'s of Jones/Ngannou would ever make up for the loss of reputation and gain of a competitor. I know that was the hold up in all of this and it's completely fair. Hate or love Jones, he's a significant part of UFC history and Ngannou is only getting that fight if he signs a 3-5 fight contract so UFC doesn't let him get out.

{<huh}

You really just put these two contradicting statements next to each other?
The PFL was bidding against themselves.
They made a terrible decision to sign him for that much and the UFC was smart to not over pay. No other orgs were willing to either.
Just because you overpay for a house doesn't mean the house sold at fair market value.

Had some time to kill so I figured I might as well buckle down and wring out some cliffs for you, Shermanos.

- Felt great pressure during free agency but was "relieved" after he finally got the offer from PFL, says the guy was "trying to make me happy"

- Didn't sign immediately, but fielded offers from Chatri (ONE), but PFL was much better allowing him to box

- PFL allows him to box, but will be up to Big Frank whether to allow them to promote and "help" in promotion

- had conversations with Deontay Wilder (did not come through but still open to it in the future)

- negotiations for Fury fight came after talks with Wilder

- doesn’t negotiate himself personally but lets his team handle it (but lets them know what exactly he wants)

- likes to remove emotions during negotiations so lets his team handle it

- finalized Fury fight deal in June

- Jon Jones fight is possible, as PFL is “down” for that fight

- doesn’t think the UFC will go for it of course

- doesn’t believe he needs the UFC title as the Fury fight is bigger than the title

- “deep inside” he hopes the Jon Jones fight eventually happens

- glows about the potential bonanza (everything) IF he knocks Fury out
- he’s being given “crazy money” for the fight

- likes the terms of the Fury deal, including an opportunity for his ENTIRE family to finally be able to watch him fight (the promotion takes care of all of it)

- fight will be 10 rounds, with a new belt

- his knees are at 90% now but will probably get stem cell therapy to fully heal

- says he isn’t fooled by Fury’s belly and self-deprecating jokes about his body. Knows he is a monster

HERE'S SOME UPDATED CLIFFS from the new clip just posted by Joe Hogan on YouTube:

- His relationship with the UFC changed after his first fight with Stipe, though he is not sure why or how. After the Lewis fight felt he was in an even more difficult position with UFC.

- After JDS fight, team went to negotiate for a new deal, but Dana said "No".

- However, he was happy because he wanted to renegotiate his contract as a free man, having decided to fight out his contract.

- Later, UFC wanted him to sign a new deal, but Big Frank no longer wants to as he and his team have already decided to fight out the rest of his contract

- Felt that the UFC was also slowing things down with him, as the intervals between his fights were nearly 1 year every time

- Was under pressure financially, because he was expecting to fight 2 or 3 times a year but was only fighting once a year. He was "limited of income".

- Before the start of the 2nd Stipe fight, he had to make a call to ask for ADVANCE of his purse just to finance his training camp. He had no money and he was already there training for a year.

- He was used to poverty, so it wasn't that much of a big deal.

- He doesn't trust loan institutions. Lives off of what is in his wallet.

- Noticed Dana did not come inside the ring when he retained the belt after beating Gane. Then later Dana tried to make amends by inviting them to dinner, but he was already frustrated with the UFC and not just about the contract negotiations either.

- He felt he had no guarantee (if he was going to sign a new deal) that he would not be treated badly again. So he needed new terms to make him feel "superior".

- He wanted a contract "without extension", seeing as how they have abused that "extension" in the past.

- Says that the UFC can just extend your contract if you refuse their fight offer. For example, if you refuse an offer even if for injury, you will receive a notice a week later informing you that your contract has been extended. This has happened to him when he fought Stipe (the second time).

- After Stipe he wanted to stay active, having just won the belt. It was a "big moment" for him to keep fighting and get busy (champ purse and all that), and he told the UFC he wanted to fight in July or August AND then December of that year. BUT the UFC called him in April asking if he could fight in June 12. But he wasn't prepared for June 12. He refused. The UFC said it was OK and they were "just checking". 2 months after, Big Frank received a notice of extension of his contract.

Goddamn. Pretty bush-league of the UFC, if true. Remember, these are BIG Frank's words, not DIRTY Frank's.

<{ohyeah}>

Thank you for the cliffs.

Excellent work.

Agree or disagree with Francis' decisions and motivation, the man is thinking of himself and his career like any fighter should. The shelf life of any athlete, especially in combat sports, is very short. They have to be aware of that and proactive.

Too many of them seem not to consider that and we later see their sad post career stories. Granted, Francis was a belt holder and will probably be in a better position than many. But every one of them should maximize their earnings while they have the opportunity.

Wait, I've been told Rogan is a company man. I'm listening currently, and Joe is 100% letting Francis speak his truth. Good for Francis.
That's JRE 101; Joe always lets his guests speak their mind. He more often than not gets shit on for it, but it's a huge part of why his show is so successful.

Uhh, no he's received blowback several times
Joe has never received blowback from the UFC. And if he ever does, he will no longer work with them. It's strictly business for him.

He is something of a company man when he's working their broadcasts, as he's compensated to be, but outside of that he's just Joe Rogan.

Joe is more commonly known than UFC, and would rather watch the fights from the stands or with his friends at home than commentate.

Do you know how many people have heard of, and are fans of Joe that have never watched UFC one single time in their life?

When most people think of Joe Rogan, it's to do with his stand up comedy, his time acting on News Radio, hosting Fear Factor, and/or simply from the JRE podcast itself.

UFC is not where Joe gained 99% of his fame.

He would still be as well known as he is today even if UFC never existed.

Fun Fact: Joe had a deal with Disney before he even started commentating for UFC, and he's been with UFC since 1997 - 22+ years before UFC got a deal with Disney.

"But UFC is violent, it's hard to market..."

I saw Joe perform stand up in Boston in 2010, and one of his bits was encouraging parents to give their five year old son a blowjob if he throws a fit about something because it would immediately calm him down. How marketable is that?

If he's not getting blowback from blowjobs on a five year old boy....

Francis needs this fight with Tyson and Tyson is being kind enough to gift it to him. Francis needs to stop making excuses and be grateful. Regulations are in place for gloves so his excuse making makes him look pathetic and prepping for an excuse for his loss. It would crack me up if Tyson said “I don’t want you to stress over cheating so the fight is off” the. Francis will shed tears and maybe learn to stop being a B and be grateful.

He should move to SA and change his flag to show Hespect
like Khamfat did to his financial backers

Forgive me if I have many more important things to do than slap morons on a cage fighting forum
Of course, of course. I’m sure a UFC shill has many other responsibilities. Dana isn’t going to blow himself.
