he will be alright im sureFrancis is a nobody without the UFC
not everything in life is about money
and dude surely wont starve
he will be alright im sureFrancis is a nobody without the UFC
A real undefeated heavyweight king with his career now in limbo while a phoney fraud like conor McGregor rakes in millions
What a joke
What do you mean?
It wasn't the money he rejected. He rejected the contract offer because it didn't include his demands regarding fighters unions etc.
- the fact that his management is in talks with glory says it all basically. He's trying desperately to set up anything possible after he miscalculated his next career step. Seems and feels like a Bob Sapp farewell tour.
- Frank trusted a mentally unstable, overweight gypsy (no disrespect, I love Fury) to have the opportunity of his life but got played. Fury is for sure not interested in a fight with Ngannou otherwise it would be public already. Fury will fight Joyce next and then Usyk. Guaranteed.
- Wilders is not the money fight he was looking for. Ngannou Wilders would have maximum 50k ppv buys and I am sure not even the arabs are anymore interested in Wilders after he got cucked by Fury.
- Bellator or PFL are not able to afford him. He could have a contract where he's allowed to Box against some cab drivers but that's all.
What other options does he have? Paul Brothers?
Glory (or any MMA organization) cannot pay anywhere near the 8m offered by the UFC for the Jones fight … in fact as Francis unfortunately fades into obscurity to the general public via inactivity and a new UFC HW champion, I’m not sure he can get 8m even vs Fury or Wilder or AJ … never mind that those fantasy boxing matches of his seem further and further away (if ever).
I really like him but unfortunately his business and negotiation acumen has so far proved to be incredibly bad and his entourage/advisors are clearly a bunch of silly amateurs who absolutely misjudged by a mile his standalone marketability and value.
I can't see the Arabs offering more money than the UFC. They could stack a fun freakshow card for what Francis is asking.
How much can Glory pay?
this is why the pay discussions are so irrational. if francis can't draw the revenue without the ufc his market value isn't just a function of what revenue gets generated for his fights in the ufc.Their biggest purses ever were reported at 1 million … they might - not clear why but let’s imagine - double that for Francis, but definitely wouldn’t and couldn’t offer 3, let alone 8 like the UFC offered. It would likely bankrupt them, as it’s probably what they pay in purses for a whole year of events.

So you are guessing how much they will pay ngannou based on what they've previously paid another fighter and no visibility to their financials?
If for the last 20 years you’ve paid max 1m and only to a handful of superstars, whilst your entire annual purse total was probably under 3m, it’s rather unlikely that you’ll suddenly pay several years total budget to one guy.
Rather than trying to be “clever” just be logical.

There's nothing more logical than their financials, and you guessing what they are without seeing them is hardly "logical."
This is basically every single one of you MFers, lol

I fear you're wasting your time on this moron. His tiny lizard brain views everything as for and against. If you look at the situation and opine (sensibly) that Francis has likely fucked up, then you're clearly a UFC shill and you hate Francis and love Dana, blah blah blah.1) I actually like Francis and wish him the best, so you clearly misunderstand everything … I wrote about Glory’s likely inability to remotely match his UFC offer, nothing to do with wanting him to “fail”
2) you obviously have no understanding of basic economic principles and business operations, that’s ok, no need to further highlight your ignorance of the topic
All the best to Francis!
Lets see what happens. I tend to agree that I don't think he has the options he thought he had and that he might not even make more than the $8m he was offered for Jones, but time will tell.
