Francis vs Anthony Joshua is bigger than any fight the UFC could ever hope to make
Joshua's latest fight hasn't even sold out yet. The UFC sells out events in the UK within minutes of going on sale. Joshua's day in the sun is over.

Glory (or any MMA organization) cannot pay anywhere near the 8m offered by the UFC for the Jones fight … in fact as Francis unfortunately fades into obscurity to the general public via inactivity and a new UFC HW champion, I’m not sure he can get 8m even vs Fury or Wilder or AJ … never mind that those fantasy boxing matches of his seem further and further away (if ever).

I really like him but unfortunately his business and negotiation acumen has so far proved to be incredibly bad and his entourage/advisors are clearly a bunch of silly amateurs who absolutely misjudged by a mile his standalone marketability and value.

You guys just hate that you guys were wrong and Ngannou is going to get his big boxing pay day.

How is he getting his payday? Is anything confirmed? Or is it just that hes still in talks, demanding crazy ammounts of money? And who is gonna pay him over 8 mil to box?

Nobody hates on Francis... Were just angry that this exciting freak of nature MMA fighter, probably most exciting HW in past decade, spent best years of his career negotiating contracts instead of fighting - and that is his management teams problem. His manager should be shot, at least in the knees.

I still dont know what was wrong with UFCs offer... Money was there. If he wanted health insurance, why he wants to box? Boxing, like any fight promotion on this planet, also doesnt offer universal health insurance. Anyway it all seems to me like some people saw him as a cash cow, so now instead of him being a fighter, hes acting like a cash cow for the team, and thats what sucks.

what is it with people willing failure on guys who've provided us with entertainment ..

Whatever Ngannou does next, I will pay to see it.

Whatever happens in the future in heavyweight in the UFC, I will not pay to see it.

I don't care what anyone thinks Ngannou's options are or how much he gets paid. And I think Ngannou cares less about money than you Shertards think too. He got himself out of a slavery contract and now has freedom. Good for him. It's what he wanted.

Fuck the UFC. Fuck Dana White.

slavery lmao

Well he is fighting an absolute no one. Trade them for ngannuo and it sells out with ease.

Is Ngannou a proven draw? As far as I understand, he's never had massive PPV numbers.

- the fact that his management is in talks with glory says it all basically. He's trying desperately to set up anything possible after he miscalculated his next career step. Seems and feels like a Bob Sapp farewell tour.

- Frank trusted a mentally unstable, overweight gypsy (no disrespect, I love Fury) to have the opportunity of his life but got played. Fury is for sure not interested in a fight with Ngannou otherwise it would be public already. Fury will fight Joyce next and then Usyk. Guaranteed.

- Wilders is not the money fight he was looking for. Ngannou Wilders would have maximum 50k ppv buys and I am sure not even the arabs are anymore interested in Wilders after he got cucked by Fury.

- Bellator or PFL are not able to afford him. He could have a contract where he's allowed to Box against some cab drivers but that's all.

What other options does he have? Paul Brothers?
But, he made sure that he's unemployed free. Doesn't that count for something?

He's not a massive draw but he's known and people absolutely love circus fights.

The stipe fight is said to have done 340-380k

It has gane fight as 500k.

You sell that in a boxing fight you're getting paid.

Francis screwed Francis. He didnt want to job for jones and he is a no name is boxing. He will sign with Bellator in 2024 and greatly disappoint. 2023 he will do nothing and fall even further in to irrelevancy.

Everyone loved Francis until Jon called him a 'pussy'.
Very short memories

You guys are just salty that you don't get to see the Jones - Ngannou fight. Let's see what he ends up doing before saying it was the wrong choice financially.

Even then, lots of people take pay cuts for peace of mind. He could probably already retire right now and be okay financially.

He said he had to borrow money to live in the last two years, hes been blowing it as fast as it's coming in.

No MMA fighter has ever really been able to draw without that UFC push behind them. Those numbers won't directly translate to boxing. McGregors the only one who was a mega draw but he's an anomaly and was working with the UFC.

Bellators biggest PPV was Rampage Vs King Mo with 100k buys.

The Arabs are his best bet. They seem to overpay for everything atm. But it does seem there is potential for this to blow up in his face. Jones obliterating Gane the way he did was a worst case scenario for him.

I can't see the Arabs offering more money than the UFC. They could stack a fun freakshow card for what Francis is asking.

Officially? Did I miss the press conference where he said he was retiring?

When did they banned elbows in pfl?

That reminded me when pride went to us soil and stripped the rules to us rules. It killed the identity!
Pfl does a lot of tournamets and they ban elbows claiming the cuts can make the fighter not return quickly, even standing elbows. It ends up with very poor ground and pound.
