Ngannou is officially done

I agree with most of TS's comments. Why would Francis leave the UFC without having a clear game plan? He should have had an agreement to fight Fury, a huge money fight. Even Wilder, which would do way more than 50K PPV buys TS, would have been a decent option. Now, it appears he is unemployed with very few prospects. Is his new manager Joshua Fabia?

I don't think he can legally enter into any discussion/contracts while under contract with the UFC.

He has got to be one of the dumbest people in sports history. I don't even feel bad for him because he was given every opportunity but proved to have the biggest ego in UFC history with no respect for the business or anyone in it. Jon Jones taking way more time to walk out than he did finishing Gane further proved Francis was nothing.

You don't shit on the people that pulled you out of nothing, made you very rich, gave you every opportunity to be greater and expect others to respect you, hand you fist fulls of money because you think you deserve it while still unwilling to do anything to work for it.

Francis will be fine. he made the right choice.
there are more things besides money.
they wanted to lock him up with a slavery deal.

This is untrue.

Ngannou said he was offered around $8 million to fight Jones and to sign a three-fight contract with no extension. He had hoped to fight Jones twice and book a rubber match against former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. "It was a multi-fight deal. It was for three fights," Ngannou said.Jan 17, 2023

He would have been rich and would be done with the contract in 2 years.

Anything he does outside teh UFC > slave contract.

Very dumb honestly. He's not commanding more than 5 mil in any boxing match. In a fight against anyone besides the heavyweight champ, it'd be in the 1-3 mil range.

There's no magical money tree in boxing. You have to have the star power to earn those pay cheques. Ngannou is barely known outside of MMA fans.

Those who say he’a done, dude can sign a one fight deal with any org right now. Get something around 1 million +sponsorship cash and stuff. He’ll be fine.

I don’t think it was that simple. Those contracts are shit.

It's not about if youre on the UFC side or on Francis side. It's just about the wisdom of his decision.
To me it was a veeeery unwise decision. Hey, the contract wasn't exactly what you wanted, but It would put food on the table.
Now his stock is waning, and i strongly suspect it took a nosedive after Jones fight.

Yes, his ego couldn't handle the ass whooping he knew he would get from Jones. The only way Francis will ever be remembered was eloquently stated In the words of the GOAT, Big Ol Pussy.

Gane took that loss for a nice payday by much less money than was offered to Francis, and Francis would not have done any better. Jon Jones was not f'n around. He never would have dared to come back and fight at HW if he wasn't 100% sure he would win easily. The market for Ngannou is closed. I would rather a Gane rematch after Stipe than ever seeing Ngannou again and no one is going to be pushing him now that Jon Jones has proven to be HW King.

I can't say I am aware of any other organization where the fans of the sport are vehemently behind the organization and higher ups versus the people they actually tune in to watch.

Such a strange phenomenon here.
The UFC deliveries more often than not. I like mma, I want to see mma fighters doing good mma fights, not some shitty ass boxing match.

So you're loyal to the brand and not loyal to any fighter, I get it.

Super strange to me but I am not you

Francis vs Anthony Joshua is bigger than any fight the UFC could ever hope to make

You know that no future Ngannou fights will be able to be promoted using his old highlights right? No Overeem, Miocic KO's etc to sell his fights, UFC isn't going to hand over the rights to use that footage. I don't think some of you guys get how much that will hurt the ability to promote his future fights. They'll have to show him hitting a heavy bag in the promos lol. :D

I can actually see him ending up in BKFC. Those dudes APPEAR to have quite a lot of money for fighter payments.
But....to be honest ...BKFC is a big fall from UFC Heavyweight title fights.

So yes I do think Francis miscalculated the amount of lucrative options that he thought he had.
I think he is over-valuing himself and thinks he can pick and choose which 10milllion / 20milllion / 30million dollar fight he wants.
aahhh....probably not. But no doubt when he takes his next combat fight, he will say eagerly "I am making FAR MORE for this one fight than i ever did in UFC". But I doubt it'll be 20 or 30mill.
Personally i doubt the revenue numbers of whatever-organisation-promotes-that-fight would even really justify paying him 10mill.
But he'll never admit that.
