There’s no need for excuse making and revisionist history on a limited fighter like Ngannou… his skillset was embarrassing.
Ngannou is a guy who made a career of beating the remains of shopworn 40 year olds and looking terrible against the few guys in their prime whom he faced.
He got outboxed by Black Beast, there’s no excusing that no matter how you spin it lol. He felt the power early and didn’t throw anything the rest of the fight. No “elite” fighter loses to Derrick Lewis
He got thrashed by Stipe in his prime, then waited like half a decade to beat a decrepit 40 year old Stipe who already got knocked out cold by DC and went through a brutal trilogy with DC.
The only other decent caliber guy who he faced in his prime was white belt Gane who made him look drunk on the feet, and he had to buffoonishly LnP with the ugliest grappling in HW history. Not only that, but he somehow managed to get easily taken down by white belt Gane on his only real takedown attempt lol.
He then went to the minor leagues where he’s pretty much done nothing except go 0-2 in boxing begging for handouts.
MMA won’t remember Ngannou because he contributed nothing to the sport. I’d take Tim Sylvia over Ngannou in terms of legacy
