NFL NFL Rugby Team

Because pure speed translates to NFL better than any other sport. Correct me if I'm wrong but a lot of the fastest players are receivers and that position basically requires you to be fast as fuck, be able to remember where you're supposed to go on a play and to be good at catching.

Roger Federer would have been terrible at football but I don't think any of these guys are beating him at tennis .

Not talking tennis am talking rugby a game played by smaller and slower athletes than what we see on an NFL field.

There has been a lot of tracksters at running back and cornerbacks also.

I ran track in the off season, pretty much just staying in shape for the next football season. Who does that in rugby/soccer?

Nobody because the off season is only a couple of months so players only get maybe three weeks holiday at the end of every season before they go back into pre season training camp for the next season. Sometimes not even that if there's an international tournament during the summer.

Ok, I don't follow the game.

My point is what kind of athletes play pro football compared to other sports. That size with speed a real big deal.

I agree that American Football is the sport that pure athleticism translates best to. I don't agree that good athletes would automatically make good soccer players purely because a lot of the best soccer players aren't the most athletic ones.

I guess I'd compare it to quarterbacks. It doesn't matter how fast these dudes are, they're not going to be as good a quarterback as Brady no matter how young they start throwing the ball.

NFL Basketball team

Antonio Gates
Tony Gonsalez
Ezekial Elliott
Randy Moss
Terrell Owens

Rugby has no basketball team, neither does soccer.

NFL 4x4 team

Olllie Matson Olympian
Glenn Davis Olympian
Larance Jones world ranked
Tommie Smith WR Holder

Rugby/soccer nay~~~~~~~~~~

I agree about Brady, BUT......look who is left in the NFL playoffs when talking QB's, all but Stafford can run. That QB 40 now means somehing.

Lets take Bo Jackson who at 225 pounds he could run a 4.2 40, does ayone really think this cat wouldn't star in rugby? Dude was a two time Alabama decathlon champion.

Let's take Herschel Walker who at 225 pounds he ran a 10.23 100m and beat people up in the UFC, hell yes he'd star in rugby.

Now who can give me a rugby cat who did anything other than rugby?

Well Volkanovski went on to be UFC champion despite being a regional level rugby player so there's him.

I believe Rob Whittaker has a rugby background too.

There has been 20 OLYMPIC sprinters play NFL football

A dozen WORLD CLASS hurdlers

A dozen WORLD CLASS long jumpers

play NFL football

Now add a few 100 who were national caliber in some other sport besides football.

See the difference?

They're all speed based sports though. Give me an NFL player who went on to be a world class tennis player.

Don't really get where you're trying to go with the tennis thing. Yes big fast athletes end up playing football or basketball.

My song n' dance is the sport of American pro football is chocked full of cats who grew up doing other things besides football, so we see a more diverse athlete in that sport.

Running back Ezekial Elliott was a stud basketballer, a state hurdles champion AND played football. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many NFLers are just like that, multi talented, that can't be said about the rugby dudes.

Tennis?????

Jackie Robinson the legendary baseballer also played football, basketball and won the NCAA long jump while at UCLA, those are the kinds of athlete we see in the NFL.

Jackie had an older bro named Mack he won the silver at those 1936 Olympics in the 200m.

My final say on this, yep, bored with it.

When we watch rugby or soccer we see guys who rarely if ever did anything other than soccer/rugby, not so when watching NFLers play, there we have former wrestlers, sprinters, shot putters, basketballers baseballers hurdlers, long jumpers Yep, a more multi talented athlete.

Adios~~~~~
